The Good News Is...

As of right now 90 countries have donated money or sent supplies and manpower to Japan to help.

90! That is a really good thing.

Even Afghanistan and Sri Lanka have sent money and we know they have their own problems as well.

Nate Berkus survivor of the Asian Tsunami in 2004 said that after 3 days of no food, water or shelter when the red cross trucks showed up, it was such an emotional relief. They didn't even get a chance to unload or do anything yet, but just seeing the red cross on the truck was an immense emotional rush like no other. He knew he'd been saved.

Personally, we KNOW the red cross helps. When our townhouse complex went up in flames and we were scrambling to save our pets, a red cross vounteer came right up to us and asked if we needed: food, water, shelter, clothes or someone to talk to. We were in shock and thanked them and thanked them and thanked them. We were lucky enough to escape without loss of life, limb or home - and our pets were ok - so we didn't need anything. But knowing they were there even on such a small local level was amazing.

Also, some miracle stories are starting to surface from Japan. A woman was reunited with her dog. She walked into the rubble that was her home town and there he was just sitting on the ground, waiting for someone to come and get him. A 4 month old baby was found, just lying in the rubble. You heard about the man found 10 miles out to sea. Hopefully in the days to come we will hear many such stories of miracle survivors.
