The Real March Madness

Earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdowns in Japan.

Earth's rotation altered by Japan earthquake.

Middle East uprisings.

Libyan revolt Fail.

New Zealand, Chile and Australia still trying to recover from natural disasters.

Ivory Coast massacre.

Massive flooding in Kentucky and New Jersey.

Union demonstrations and law maker debacles in Wisconsin.

Ongoing "wars" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

NPR and Planned Parenthood undercover stings and possible shut downs.

US Budget Battles.

Somali terrorists.

Chemical plant explosion in Massachusetts.

Al Queda and terrorist nuclear threat.

Earthquake threat to Pacific Coast (and its nuclear plants).

Mexican drug cartel massacres.

Stock market collapse.

Massive sea life die offs.

Suicide bombers.

Catholic priest molestation criminal suits.

Atlantis is FOUND.

Rising food, oil, gas and airline prices.

Global food and water shortages.

Haiti.

The shocking indifference to most or all of the above by obsession over Charlie Sheen, the royal wedding, the NFL lockout, NCAA March Madness, the new iPad2 and the next season of Dancing with the Stars on Monday is appalling.

We understand that due to the overwhelming list of global and local events that we would want to bury our collective heads in the sand and just tune into Tom Bergeron next Monday and FORGET about what is going on in the world. But now is the time to tune in and NOT tune out.

The implications of all of this are shockingly clear. The Human Race needs To GET IT TOGETHER NOW. We need to start acting like a team. It shouldn't take the Japanese crisis to get 67 countries to work together. Thankfully that is the case but we need to start working on quite a few other things TOGETHER before it's too late.

The first thing we need to do is stop the global threat of random nuclear attacks by small minded terrorist groups like Al Queda and kibosh the nuclear threats by Iran. This is paramount. If suicide bombing terrorists blow up Washington DC or New York the retaliation will be immediate and lead to the real end of life as we know it. Global thermonuclear war.

We all know the rest of the drill. End hunger. Stop global pollution. Find a common language. Stop overpopulation. Rebuild disaster ravaged countries. Focus our energies on saving the Earth by creating and funding green technologies and energy policies. We could go on and on.

We as a race can do anything we set our minds to. Greed has to be overcome, at all costs, if we are to survive. Are you familiar with the Cree Indian prophecy?

Only after the last tree has been cut down;
Only after the last fish has been caught;
Only after the last river has been poisoned;
Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

We need to realize RIGHT NOW that not only is the Earth one large playing field and that we are on all the same team but that it's Game Time.

It's PI Day...Everyone Celebrate The Greatest Mathematical Number

PI is the most recognizable number to non-mathematicians. It is ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter and has been calculated to 5 trillion digits.

PI is easy to remember. Here it is to 50 digits. Memorize just 3 to 5 digits at a time and you'll get it.

3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510

The Guinness-recognized record for remembered digits of PI is 67,890 digits, held by Lu Chao, a 24-year-old graduate student from China. It took him 24 hours and 4 minutes to recite to the 67,890th decimal place without an error.

Damn! That's awesome!

Nobel prize winning poet Wisława Szymborska wrote a poem about PI:

The caravan of digits that is pi
does not stop at the edge of the page,
but runs off the table and into the air,
over the wall, a leaf, a bird's nest, the clouds, straight into the sky,
through all the bloatedness and bottomlessness.
Oh how short, all but mouse-like is the comet's tail!

Here's another one:
Just for fun...

Consider humble pi. It is a number never ending.
It never repeats itself as its value keeps ascending.
Based upon a circle, many men have tried
to calculate the ratio of its width to its outside.
It is called irrational because it can not be made a fraction.
The challenge of its nature has been a call to action.
The number pi has played a role in every life on earth.
From physics to statistics, its always proved its worth.
The tires that you ride on, the table where you dine,
little pi was there throughout its concept and design.
Humble pi is constant - its been a great addition
and quietly serves us each day without recognition.
If you can not appreciate why I hold this number high,
then shame! It is you that should be eating humble pie.

-- Ken Johnson

So everyone celebrate PI Day. At 3:14 pm start reciting numbers and amaze your friends, family and co-workers.

"Watashi-tachi wa anata no tame ni inotte iru"

"We are praying for you"
私たちはあなたのために祈りを捧げています

Our thoughts and prayers are with our Japanese friends on this desperate day. The Omni Report takes a strong stance against the Japanese Whalers and often ridicules the Japanese but would never wish this upon thousands of innocent people. We are devastated.

This earthquake at 8.9 was 8,000 stronger than the New Zealand earthquake. EIGHT THOUSAND TIMES STRONGER.

It stands now as the 5th largest ever recorded.

"Tonight, huge fires burned unabated across large parts of the country as damaged oil refineries and gas works billowed black smoke into the sky.

Half the country was understood to be without power, with four million homes in Tokyo alone being cut off, while the army has been deployed to the quake-hit areas to help relief efforts.

However those relief efforts were hampered by a number of aftershocks, including a 6.6 magnitude tremor which hit Tokyo and caused already damaged buildings to shake further.

Elsewhere, two high-speed bullet trains were missing alongside a cruise ship carrying 100 passengers that was swept away when the wave hit. One of the trains was reported to be carrying 400 passengers.

A state of emergency was declared at a nuclear power plant in Fukushima after the 8.9 quake caused the cooling system to fail"

The nuclear plant could cause a world-wide disaster ala Chernobyl if there is a radiation leak. We HOPE they can contain this admist all the other problems they are having.

Sigh of relief that the tsunami waves did not impact Hawaii, US or Central and South America as feared. Thank God for small or in this case BIG favors.

UPDATE: Kyodo wire is reporting 88,000 people MISSING.

Jon Cryer Kills It - He IS a Troll Afterall

Charlie Sheen lashed out at his co-star, Jon Cryer, the other day saying the following:

"Jon has not called me. He's a turncoat, a traitor, a troll. He shouldn't bother reaching out now. What's there to say? I'll tell him, 'You're a little late. Goodbye, troll,'" Sheen said.

Well, Sheen kind of recanted a little bit issuing a half-apology to Cryer, saying this:

"I'll apologize to Jon right now, I was in a mood and I threw that out to somebody. It's a little bit a half apology. An apol. The reason I was upset I didn't get a text or a phone call or anything saying, "Hey, dude, back off, I got your back, or you got my back or there's a back involved.' "

Last night, Cryer took it to Conan where he revealed he is indeed a troll. And he's not the only one...Helen Mirren anyone?

Bruins Hit Causes Uproar

The Boston Bruins Montreal Canadiens game the other night turned serious when Zdeno Chara hit Max Pacioretty into a partition wall.

Max suffered terrible injuries, actually described as horrific. He has a neck fracture, a concussion and is still in the hospital.

The Montreal POLICE have opened a criminal investigation into the incident, but the NHL has declined any sort of penalty - pissing off the Canadiens to no end.

Said Max: "I am upset and disgusted that the league didn't think enough of (the hit) to suspend him," Pacioretty told told TSN's Bob McKenzie. "I'm not mad for myself, I'm mad because if other players see a hit like that and think it's okay, they won't be suspended, then other players will get hurt like I got hurt."

The hit drew criticism from Gary Lunn, the minister of state for sports, and others outside the league. Lunn called it unacceptable.

For the record Max Pacioretty is really really really angry at Zdeno Chara. If he was able to stand or walk or function he would kick his ass.

Also plaguing Hockey is the current state of players safety. We did an article last week regarding the concussions and life altering situations these brain injuries can cause. Well, commercial sponsors of the game are getting antsy.

"Air Canada released a letter Thursday where it threatened to withdraw its sponsorship following a violent headshot to Habs player Max Pacioretty by Zdeno Charo of the Boston Bruins.

All six Canadian teams and five U.S.-based teams charter Air Canada flights. In addition to charter contracts with teams, Air Canada has the naming rights in Toronto for the home of the Maple Leafs and NBA Raptors.

Air Canada may have been emboldened to act because of a groundswell of public concern resulting from a series of recent player concussions.

He said they also have more leverage than a standard sponsor like a beer company, which would be replaced by a rival in a heartbeat. Later Thursday, Habs (Canadiens)owner Geoff Molson issued a public letter expressing his, “frustration, disappointment and shock” over the issue — and he said NHL Commissioner Bettman had agreed to make safety a priority issue at next week’s league meetings."

See the hit for yourself. We've seen much much worse. But you can see in the slo-mo that Max was pushed into a partition and when he hit it literally broke his neck.

Adopt a Native American Elder

Native American activist and actor Jay Tavare is on board to help aid the most neediest of all America's population, the Native America senior citizens of Arizona and Southern Utah.

The Adopt An Elder program supports over 500 traditional Elders on the reservations that have no heat in the winter, except for the wood they have to chop themselves. They really rely on our kindness to help.

And have SO MUCH TO TEACH US!

These talented people weave authentic unique one-of-a-kind Navajo rugs and that is their only means of support. These spirit rugs are said to have a palpable energy.

"No two rugs are the same and each one is truly a piece of Sacred Art. The weavers are inspired by the spirit to weave the patterns that they see in their minds eye as they pray. Each rug carries positive vibrations and by taking one home, you raise the spiritual elevation of your home and feel the peace it brings to your family."

The Program has two food and medicine runs each year that depend on donations. And host the spectacular Annual Navajo Rug Show and Sale each November in Park City, Utah.

Please read about Jay and his hope to spread the word about this unique and wonderful program: Huff Post Article

We Still Miss Biggie

Biggie Smalls aka Notorious B.I.G. died March 9, 1997 and he's still missed. It's hard to believe it's been 14 years since he died.

He was killed in a drive by shooting in Los Angeles 15 days before the release of his best selling album - Life After Death. His murderer was never identified or caught and is still at large.

He is STILL ranked by MTV as the third best rapper of all time and was the recipient of many industry awards back in the day. His albums have sold over 17 million copies.

Here's a video of one of his hit songs, back in the gansta days with his best friend Sean "Puffy/PDiddy/Puff Daddy" Combs...

Oh Biggie, Biggie can't you see...
Sometimes your words just hypnotize me..

Mike Tyson: A Reformed Man

Mike Tyson appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show the other day. He seems to be a changed man. He is promoting his new pigeon show on Animal Planet that is currently being protested by PETA. We're not sure about that.

What seems to be obvious though is that he is a changed man. Gone is the punk kid dominated by Don King. Gone is the violent punk that was convicted of rape and sentenced to prison. Gone is the raging man that chewed the ear off of Evander Holyfield in 2007.

Tyson is doing his best to change the public perceptions of him.

Here is what he had to say, in part, on Ellen, regarding the loss of his daughter.

"'I had a four-year-old daughter who, unfortunately, had an accident and died,' said the boxer.

I was pretty outraged, torn apart. When I went to the hospital when she was on the machine, I was anticipating, because I was probably coming down from a hangover, but I'm anticipating that I'm going to go to the hospital and raise hell. Once I got there and saw other people who had children who already died or were dying, they were handling it with dignity and I didn't want to be the psycho parent.'

'I wanted to handle it with dignity as well. Their kids were dying too so I didn't have any right to be a psycho. I just had to handle it like everyone else and be humble and be at ease.'

He has now been clean for over two years. Along with giving up alcohol and drugs, he also become a vegan. "

We do like the new Mike Tyson. He used to be the best boxer in the world. Now let's hope he can put his past behind him and be the best person he can be.

Going vegan is a hell of a start.

Did you catch him on SNL? Or in The Hangover? He was pretty good!

SURVIVOR: Russell's Last Chance

It's the end of an era. Russell Hantz is a Survivor no more. Many of you are rejoicing. We are sad. Russell was GREAT TV. Yes, he's a sexist ass, but you know what? He was fun to watch. We have been told that we could be duped by Russell into being one of his minion underlings and...we agree. If we were on Survivor we would have joined his "Dumb Bitch Alliance" in less than two seconds flat.

That being said, Russell and Matt "The Christian" battled it out on Redemption Island in a domino challenge and Russell lost.

Then...wait for it...wait for it...waaaaiiittt...For. It. HE CRIED. Bawled. Couldn't hold it back. Tears of frustration and anger and just plain old emotion. You see, Russell LOVES Survivor. He wasn't in it for the money. Or the Glory. He just wanted to play. And he lost. And he cried.

Then he "got his Russell on" and got mean. Ralph "The Sasquatch" said he had found the Immunity Idol and Russell was done anyway and that set 'ole Russ off.

You see, when a player gets voted off and sent to Redemption Island for a duel to remain in the game, the tribes get to send 2 witnesses. Russell's tribe send Ralph and some girl and Boston Rob's tribe sent "Secret Agent" Phillip and Kristina.

Ralph, like an idiot, flushed himself out as an Idol holder and tried to take it back sort of. Phillip, of course, being a Federal Agent had to let everyone know that it was too late. All those years of training lets him know when someone is lying.

Well, that's when Russell went off and spilled every bean the other tribe had. How his tribe threw the challenge just to vote him off, who's in charge of the tribe, who the alliances were, EVERYTHING. He said he would live on in the game through "them" - Phillip and Kristina.

To Jeff Probst's credit he just let Russell roll. Russell's Ravings = Ratings gold! "And, you know, people like my tribe that throws a challenge just to get rid of me because I’m Russell — not even worried about Boston Rob and his team and numbers. So it's hard to be a professional quarterback and have pee-wee leaguers on your team, because I gotta run the ball, I gotta catch the ball, I gotta throw the ball. I gotta do everything, " Russell said.

Good-Bye, Russell! It was fun while it lasted.

Meanwhile, Rob snuck off and FOUND THE IMMUNITY IDOL. WAY TO GO, ROB! Russell's gone but at least we still have 'ole Boston Rob around. More Ratings Gold.

Back at camp, Phillip tried selling the intel to Rob, which pissed Rob off. "Don't you work for me", he said. "You're in my alliance!" Which meant, just tell me, dude. WTF?

The Immunity/Reward Challenge: A Toolbox Sears product placement challenge. Tribes had to use a crowbar, shovel, axe, saw and a hammer to...do stuff. The reward? Barbecue! Food is always a motivator on this show.

We finally noticed a player named Grant. Nice bod! Just lose the dreads, ok? Phillip is old and slow. But he does try. He's starting to grow on us. He does mean well, he just doesn't have people skills.

Rob's tribe loses AGAIN! They haven't won one challenge so far this season! And the one they did "win" was because the other tribe threw it to vote out Russell! OMG!

So once again, Phillip called a tribe meeting that no one wanted to hear or contribute to. We kind of feel sorry for him. Just kind of...in that underdog sort of way.

So as much as Phillip's tribe hates him, Boston Rob is threatened by Kristina and arranges to vote her out. It works and at Tribal, Kristina gets sent to Redemption Island.

At Tribal, Phillip and Kristina argued over who should be booted and Phillip regaled us with an enchantingly crazy story about a "Shepard Stamp" and to tell you the truth he lost us after the first sentence...but it basically meant he's a hard worker. Or Something.

We are loving...LOVING..the new Survivor format. The eps start with a duel at Redemption and halfway through is the R/I Challenge. It's pretty great and fast paced. The only thing missing is the video at the very end where they show who voted for who...so you know who's in whos alliance. We're getting over it though. Instead they show the new arrival at Redemption.

Stay tuned! This show is the BEST ON TV!

CBS just renewed Survivor for another 2 seasons with our boy Probst as host and executive producer. YAY!

CBS Executive Vice President of Alternative Programming Jennifer Bresnan:
“Survivor is a program franchise that continues to stand the test of time. Each season delivers new faces, exotic places, the ultimate social experiment combined with game play, and one of the most engaged audiences anywhere on primetime television"

We are certainly "engaged" and have been since we saw the promo for this show in 1999!

HE RESIGNED! THE PHARAOH IS GONE!

Oh my! There is much lamentation and sorrow right now. We are beating our chests, cutting our hair, going into mourning, wearing black and crying out to God "WHY!?"

Okay not really, but the shock hasn't worn off. It's only begun!

Our beloved/despised Dr. Zahi Hawass has quit! It's TRUE...

This is directly from his blog (Check for updates and video)

Dr. Hawass.com

Why Dr Hawass Resigned

Q: Dr. Hawass, for many years you have been the image of modern Egyptology. Why are you leaving now?

A: “I am leaving because of a variety of important reasons. The first reason is that, during the Revolution of January 25th, the Egyptian Army protected our heritage sites and the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. However, in the last 10 days the army has left these posts because it has other tasks to do. The group now in charge of the protection of these sites is the Tourist Police, but there are no Tourist Police to do this either. Therefore, what happens? Egyptian criminals, thieves (you know, in every revolution bad people always appear…), have begun to destroy tombs. They damaged the tomb of Hetep-ka at Saqqara, the tomb of Petah-Shepses at Abu Sir and the tomb of a person called Em-pi at Giza. They attacked a storage magazine at Saqqara and we do not yet know how many artifacts are missing; they opened two storage magazines at Giza; one tomb dated to the 19th Dynasty, the only one in the Delta in fact, was damaged at Ismaïlia; and a store at El-Qantara East has been broken into and looted for antiquities. People have begun to build houses and to excavate at night, everywhere, putting heritage sites all over the country at risk. I had to write a report and I sent it to the Director of UNESCO. That is why at the meeting of the Egyptian cabinet yesterday I had my speech prepared already and I said: “I cannot stay in Egypt and see antiquities being stolen when I cannot do anything to stop it!” This situation is not for me! I have always fought to return stolen artifacts to Egypt. I did fight Ahmed Ezz as well, the man in the Parliament, who was the most powerful man, because he wanted to allow antiquities to be sold in Egypt again.

The second reason is that there are two crooks in the Antiquities Department, who have accused me of stealing antiquities and doing other illegal things all of the time. Their files talk about this. A third person started saying similar things, a university professor who was the Antiquities Director for almost 6 years before me, who never accomplished anything in that time. As a corrupt man, he even gave his signed permission to a rich lady from another Arabic country to take manuscripts out of Egypt! These three people encouraged young Egyptians to protest against me personally, to shout outside my office that they needed jobs. Sadly, I cannot give a job to everyone, but I did find funds to provide nearly 2000 training positions. In response to the horrible rumors that I am stealing antiquities. How could this be?! How could a man who has given his life to protecting and promoting antiquities, be accused later of stealing them?! Because of all of these things, I believe that if I stay in my position for another six months, I will never be able to protect the antiquities I love and I will never be able to work during this mess. All my life, I have been excavating, discovering, writing books and giving lectures all over the world. My work is responsible for bringing many tourists to Egypt, which helps our economy. But now I cannot do this! Therefore, I decided to resign”.

Q: Your decision could have a very negative impact on tourism in Egypt and on the image of the post-revolutionary Egypt…

A: “I know. I agree with you, but what can I do? I cannot work during this mess. Antiquities are my life. I cannot see with this mess in front of me. I cannot work with these dishonest people trying to tell everyone else that they are honest. I was writing an article before you came about a situation similar to this that happened 4000 ago in Egypt. A nice man, his name was Ipuwer, tells us on a papyrus what he saw when he took a look at the state of the country. He describes chaos - how the poor became rich and rich became poor. The lady who had a mirror before cannot find the mirror now. She looks at her face in the water. People robbed the pyramids, they robbed everything. That is what is happening now too! It is something I cannot stop! I can work if there is discipline and honesty, but dishonest people have begun to appear and to attack the honest people. I can stand against them if antiquities are safe, but at the moment antiquities are not safe!”

Q: What are the conditions under which you would come back to lead the Ministry of Antiquities?

A: “I will come back if there is stability at the sites and if there are police, as it was before, to protect the sites, but now people come to them with guns. They stand in front of my security people, who run away, because they are not armed. In the past, the police refused to give them weapons. Therefore, everyday, in the morning, I am waiting for news. What has been robbed today? What has been stolen today? Since I cannot stop this, I cannot come back.

Q: Recently, you issued an urgent appeal to the young Egyptians of the revolution to protect the sites. What was the reason behind this?

A: “It was wonderful. This is something that really everyone should know. On Saturday, January the 29th, I went to Tahrir Square at nine in the morning. I walked among the young people there. They came to me and explained how they put themselves in front of the Egyptian Museum to protect it. When I checked inside, I saw that all the masterpieces of the Museum’s collection were still there. That is why I originally announced that the Museum was safe. Sadly, we have since discovered that 18 objects were stolen and 70 were damaged, but the final report is still in preparation and we will know the real result soon. The Director of the Museum has told me that there are more missing artifacts, but none are major pieces. Thanks God, someone found a statue of Akhenaton giving an offering near a garbage can in Tahrir Square and returned it. The Egyptian Museum is open again now. I would like people to go to it and see that it is safe. I have also been arguing with people who are now trying to tell me, “How can you ask for the bust of Nefertiti to be returned to Egypt, if your own people are stealing and damaging the monuments?”. I say that if what happened in Egypt, with the police force abandoning the streets for two nights, had happened in Rome, for example, Rome too would be robbed, completely. Their museums would have been robbed as well. Thank God, all that happened that day here was not that bad.”

Q: Frankly, Dr. Hawass, are you encouraging tourists to come back to Cairo and to the archaeological sites, or is this still not safe?

A: “Honestly, I have to tell you that if the Ministers of Tourism and of the Interior make a statement to give back the police their power, tourists could come to visit Egypt again. Until now, however, they have not done this. This means that visitors from abroad will have to wait until police officers and Antiquities Police are at every archaeological site once more.”

Q: Until that moment, it is not safe?
A: “I can say this, yes.”

WHOA! Did you get all that? Dr. Hawass is resigning as a form of protest! The antiques are being looted at gunpoint and he can no longer protect anything. Rather than take the blame for that, he is heading to the hills!

We thought he'd be stronger than that. Either he's still really pissed that Mubarak got overthrown and along with it all his perks and privileges OR he wants the new government to beg him to stay.

Stay tuned...!

What a Sight! A Starry Night!

Last night, we at The Omni Report, were treated to an astronomical treat.

At precisely 7:23 PM EST the Space Shuttle Discovery came barreling out of the Northwestern sky crossing overhead as a glaringly bright small white ball of light. It was beautiful to behold and we saluted our astronauts "friends" in the heavens as it was the last time we'll ever have a chance to see the Discovery overhead again.

THEN...

At precisely 7:25 PM EST, with Discovery still visible on the horizon a SECOND ball of bright light came into view. From virtually the same direction just a degree apart, the International Space Station started to pass overhead just as Discovery was disappearing into the horizon. The Space Station moved slower, although it was still moving at incredible speed, but the slower pace allowed us to enjoy it for a few seconds longer than Discovery.

It was a stellar event and one we will remember forever!

About 20 minutes later a most peculiar cloud formation came over the sky and we were left again breathless with awe. We can try to describe it but will utterly fail. It was as if the sky had morphed into long ghostly fingers, spaced precisely and evenly. Cloud, sky, cloud, sky - like a giant comb or fan. We've never seen anything like it in our lives and we are no spring chickens. It was fabulous, amazing and awesome.

All in all it was remarkable and marvelous night!

Wimbledon Coming to a Theater Near You in 3D

I'm gonna be in the movies? In 3D? Where's my agent?

It was announced that the SONY sponsored Wimbledon tennis tournament Men's and Women's Finals will be broadcast LIVE in 3D in movie theaters this summer.

We're not sure if this is a good idea or not mainly because we wouldn't pay for something we're going to watch FOR FREE on ESPN anyway.

It sounds like a money grubbing scheme and we're not falling for it. ALTHOUGH, the thought of watching Rafa on a movie screen in HD and 3D is kind of tempting...the jury's still out on this one.

The Royal Wedding (That No One Cares About)

Dumb and Dumber

It comes as no surprise to us, because we don't care about the Royal Wedding one iota, that poll numbers show that no one really cares about this stupid event either.

"In a ComRes survey of 1,006 British adults conducted in November 2010, a clear majority said they were "not excited" by the wedding. Of the sample, some 31% said they "couldn't care less" about the event and a further 28% described themselves as "largely indifferent".

See? The average Brit doesn't even care! So why is the media shoving this thing down our throats amid false claims that "we can't get enough?"

Not only do we not care who's invited, we could care less who makes the dress, where it's held and we are certainly not going to watch it, TIVO it or Youtube it.

The only thing we are looking forward to is actually having it so it WILL BE OVER!

Prince William is close to 30 years old now. Whoooo.. We ask again...who gives a damn about him or his life? He reminds us of a certain horse-toothed jack ass...

Prince William

One "famous" British comedian had this to say: "What I hate most is the assumption that I care, when in fact I very much do not," he barks. "There are lots of important things happening right now and yet we keep hearing about it over and over again. I don't care about my friends' weddings, never mind theirs. It's the inescapability of the whole thing - you can't get away from it even if you want to."

We agree!

In America the non-interest poll numbers are off the chart: "(Reuters) - Sixty-five percent of Americans have no interest in Prince William's pending marriage."

Why does the media ignore this and insist on tireless and endless coverage?

The Royal Family just needs to go away once and for all. The only reason they exist in this day and age is because of tourism. It's true. "Tourism in London has always relied heavily on visitors being attracted from America because of the Royal family. A loss in that interest will have a huge impact on the finances of the UK."

We've always wanted to go to London but never because of the Royals. We don't even understand what makes them royal in the first place. They are a showpiece that has no bearing on politics. In fact, they have no political power and exist solely on taxpayer money. If we were a Brit we'd be throwing a fit! And also throwing those useless idiots out of their castles and into the damn streets where they belong.

Viva La Revolucion!

We can't all make it to La Vieux Carré, The French Quarter, today in New Orleans, so here are some pictures to "take you there" in spirit.

F A T Tuesday

Happy Fat Tuesday!

It's YOUR day to EAT all you want, DRINK all you want, SEX it up, get all debauched up and generally let loose*!

In other words, it's live like a Sheen day! PARRRTAAYY

* The reason for this is because Lent starts tomorrow with Ash Wednesday and so starting tomorrow we are supposed to be "good" people and give up something as a sacrifice for the season. This all leads up to Easter, when we can celebrate the death of Jesus (oops! The Resurrection of Jesus! How do we always get that confused? Sorry!) and supposedly eat a lot again. So enjoy your "FAT TUESDAY" before you start sacrificing for God.

The Supreme Court Sucks

What the hell is wrong with the Supreme Court? Last week they ruled that the Westboro Church of Hate (as we call it), has the right to protest at funerals citing Free Speech rights.

This is wrong on so many levels we just don't know where to begin.

First of all, a FUNERAL is a private familial process NOT a free speech public rally. So we just cannot understand why in a thousand years the Supreme Court would rule that a hate group has the right to bully you on the day you bury your child. Isn't that day the hardest day of your life anyway? Why compound the issue?

Secondly, holding up signs that read "God Hates Fags" is Hate Speech, which is not a constitutional right! We do not have the right to yell "Fire" in a crowded place when there isn't one as that causes unnecessary and needless panic. Screaming "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" at a MILITARY Funeral causes unnecessary emotional and psychological ABUSE. It could also lead to a lot of Westboro Hatemongers having their faces pummeled by some Jarheads which is what is badly needed right now.

What the fuck were you ruling on, Supreme Court? Is this for real?

The Supreme Court completely dropped the ball on this one. The individuals right to privacy at a funeral was at stake and the Supreme Court ruled against that. They aren't protecting what should be Free Speech and are clearly NOT differentiating between a Hate Crime and Free Speech.

Should the KKK make a case now that burning crosses and harassing black people is Free Speech? Of course they should. The Supreme Court has paved the way for the individual to not have the right to privacy away from derogatory or hateful speech leveled at them, whether privately or publicly.

This all, quite frankly, leaves us speechless with disgust for The Supreme Court as much as we are filled with disgust for The Westboro Redneck FuckWad Church of Hate.

Should we all start screaming "Fire" in a crowded theatre and laugh when people get stampeded and hurt. SURE! Why not? The Supreme Court has ruled we have Free Speech. Oh wait! We still cannot do THAT one because people may get hurt!

Gotcha! So...when the Westboro Hatemongers start getting their asses kicked by say 20 or 30 well muscled and pissed off funeral goers...maybe The Supreme Court will rule the other way because people are getting hurt...? What ever jail time is incurred by punching the Westboro people's teeth in, is time Well Spent.

We join with Anonymous. If the Supreme Court will not curtail this heinous activity than it just has to be up to the American People themselves. THIS WILL NOT STAND AND WE WILL NOT ABIDE.

This is just us exercising our Right To Free Speech.

The World's Youngest Grandmother

How old were you when you became a grandmother? For one child woman in Romania it's 23 years old.

Rifca eloped at age 11, married a 13 year old boy and became pregnant with her first child, Maria, just a year later, when she was 12.

We are guessing things are a little different in Romania than the US...

Anyway, the little girl, Maria, following in mom's footsteps also eloped...at AGE 10. She had her little baby at age 11, a boy named Ion, making Rifca the world's youngest grandma at 23.

Rifca is happy with her grandson, Ion, now 2 years old but laments, "I am happy to be a grandmother but wished more for Maria."

It's seems none of these people have any hope for an education there, so we're not sure what she had hoped for. That Maria would wait to be 16 and then have the babies? Life seems extraordinarily difficult in Romania. We wish these women had a better chance at life...and access to birth control.

The Laughing Baby

YOU MUST WATCH THIS VIDEO!

Seeing RED

An unprecedented 36 red cards were given out by a referee at an Argentinean soccer match between rival teams Claypole and Victoriano Arenas.

The referee set a record by dismissing all the players, substitutes and coaches!

Apparently there was a huge melee when a mass brawl erupted that saw the managers and coaches..and fans...enter the pitch with their fists flying.

The ref, Rubino, just went nuts and gave EVERYONE in sight a red card.

"Rubino's red cards could yet be overruled by the local FA according to reports.

Not content with that, the technical staff also fell foul of our man in the middle leaving one manager begging to be locked away for his own safety.

Arenas boss Domingo Sganga pleaded with police to detain furious opposition players, insisting: 'They wanted to kill me'"

Rutger Hauer

One of our favorite actors, EVER, Rutger Hauer, has gotten old. Really, really old. He just turned 67 in January and looks 167.

Where did the last 30 years go?

Rutger has starred in over 50 movies and some of them the best movies ever made including Ladyhawke, Blade Runner, The Hitcher and Batman Begins. He will steal any scene in any movie with his intensity. He's a GREAT ACTOR.

Ladyhawke...a great movie

Off the big screen, he's an awesome person too.

"Hauer is a dedicated environmentalist. He fought for the release of Greenpeace's co-founder, Paul Watson, who was convicted in 1994 for sinking a Norwegian whaling vessel. Hauer has also established an AIDS awareness foundation called the Rutger Hauer Starfish Foundation." Paul Watson as many of you know now runs The Sea Shepards.

A Dutch native, in 1999 he was awarded the Dutch “Best Actor of the Century Rembrandt Award”. He should have gotten at least 3 Academy Awards anyway. So overlooked!

He's kind of in the news today as it was announced he will be the new Van Helsing in Dario Argenta's Dracula 3D. Good lord! 30 years ago that would have been a Godsend, but now...

Also, they just announced there will be either a prequel or a sequel to the movie Blade Runner. Absolutely one of the best sci-fi films ever made.

Here is Rutger Hauer as Roy the Replicant in the ICONIC scene from Blade Runner. AWESOME Film making at its best.

"I'm FREE!"

This is a REAL photo!

From Daily Mail article

"The expression on the face of this baby turtle seems to say it all as he is released into the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

The youngster - the spitting image of Finding Nemo turtle, Crush - was given his first taste of freedom after being rescued and then raised by a team of researchers in a laboratory.

The loggerhead turtle was nurtured after the team discovered he had failed to make it out of his nest.

Photographer Eric Cheng, 35, had been following the turtle rescue programme and was able to capture the youngster's expression as it plunged into the ocean. He said: 'The baby turtle took off swimming as soon as it had its first moment of freedom in the ocean.

'With my camera ready, I followed this turtle carefully. Suddenly, the turtle turned towards me and opened its mouth, repeatedly biting at my camera's large glass dome port. I speculate that the turtle may have thought that the glass port was a jellyfish which is one of its natural prey items in the ocean.'

'It always feels good to have captured a compelling image, but it has been even more rewarding to watch children react to the photo.'

Amazing!

Phil Collins Quits the Industry

And says people won't miss him!

WRONG, PHIL. We Miss You All The Time! Especially in this era of shit music! You were one of the ones that made the 80's so friggin' great!

"He says he know feels an outsider in an industry he used to dominate.

He went on: "I look at the MTV Music Awards and I think: 'I can't be in the same business as this. I don't really belong to that world and I don't think anyone's going to miss me. I'm much happier to write myself out of the script entirely."

NO! NO! NO! Of course you see the MTV awards as a foreign world, it is! It sucks so much no one cares what they play on MTV. You're right on that, but don't let it fool you into thinking that's what people want! We want you and your gift of music writing, singing and playing! You are one of the absolute bests of all time!

"The 60-year-old, who lives in Switzerland, has suffered a raft of health problems over recent years. His hearing has been badly affected by playing live, he has dislocated vertebra and nerve damage in his hands which makes it virtually impossible for him to play his beloved drums."

We're sorry you feel so beat up, but don't quit forever. 60 is the new 40!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE all of your songs. You totally dominated the industry for years. People should be kissing your ass! You had at least 14 top 40 hits, not to mention how many #1's?

Bob Geldof said of Collins after recording the drums for the Band Aid single "Feed The World" "Phil Collins is a magnificent soul. He has touched the world through his music and he continues to fight against world poverty. He is one of life's true heroes."

Collins has stated he is a supporter of animal rights and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

We f'ing LOVE THAT!

Your Genesis song "Land of Confusion" is one of our favorite songs OF ALL TIME! The lyrics are so inspiring and awesome.

Well this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Ooh, Superman where are you now
When everything's gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour

CRANK IT UP AND ENJOY! (let it spool first, then go back and let it roll!)

I must've dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street

Now did you read the news today
They say the danger's gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
There burning into the night

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

Well this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Ooh, Superman where are you now
When everything's gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour

This is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago when the sun was shining
Yes, and the stars were bright all through the night
And the sound of your laughter as I held you tight, so long ago

I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know, we'll never keep

Too many men, there's too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see, this is a land of confusion?

Now this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for
This is the world we live in

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to.

Oh, Phil, just come back already! We're so sick of stupid Britney Spears and the "so outrageous and creatively talented" Lady Gaga. She certainly puts the gag in gaga as every time we see her we want to puke. The industry needs you. We need some good rock and roll, not Justin Beiber. SAVE US!

Star Trails Over Mount Everest

WOW! This guy, Anton Jankovoy, camped for MONTHS at the foot of Everest capturing this photo.

"The 23-year-old was so determined not to leave until he had accomplished his mission that he even began meditating to overcome the freezing temperatures.

After three years dedicated to the project, Mr Jankovoy finally caught a series of stunning star trails.

Mr Jankovov, from Zhytomyr in the Ukraine, said: 'I adore photography, especially landscapes because I can just sit there and observe the nature around me. It's so peaceful. But because star trail images need very long shutter speeds they take a lot of patience.

I visited Mount Everest and it was like a revelation to me, a different world, a different way of life, almost a different universe to what I had known in the Ukraine. It had a profound effect on me and seriously changed my life. I fell in love with Nepal, the people and the amazing scenery. When I came home I realised I couldn't go back to my old way of life and so for the last three years I've lived in Nepal for six months of the year. It has taken a lot of dedication and patience but the result has been worth it.'

You're not kidding! Way to go, Anton...and thanks for the awesome pic!

Jeopardy: What is a Titmouse?

Oh Carl! You fast became our favorite jeopardy player of all time last night, when you floundered for the name of a body part. Yes, the double jeopardy question was geared for an answer that contained a body part and when you saw the adorable picture of a chinchilla - CHIN-chilla- you immediately thought TITMOUSE! It didn't matter that it threw you because once you had the tit in your mind, you could think of nothing else...

The NHL and Contact Sports Sad Truth

Bob Probert covered in blood..fighting as was his norm

Concussions can cause irreversible and permanant brain damage.

Legendary NHL "enforcer" Bob Probert's family donated his brain to science after his untimely death a few months ago. The shocking news from Boston University where it has been studied all this time is that Bob suffered from a degenerative brain disease called chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

Sports teams..and their fans..are going to have to come to grips with this sad reality. No one gets away with a "safe" hit, whether its on purpose or as the reult of a fall. The consequences are very serious.

CNN's Sanjay Gupta spent last Sunday mornings show discussing the topic of degenerative brain trauma via football and it was sad to hear. Thousands of high school and collegiate athletes suffer concussions every year. It used to be "I'm good coach, send me back out" and out they went. These kids are at a higher risk if they get in to professional level play and sustain even more concussions. Life altering risks. In the pros, it's "I'm not paying you $25 million a year to lay there, get the hell up and get the hell back on the field." And now we know the result.

Bob Probert is..was..certainly not alone.

Philadelphia fans know first hand, what happened time and time again to their star Flyers hockey player, Eric Lindros. After the 4th or 5th concussion the guy was a walking vegetable. Not only did he retire at age 34, but there were other medical conditions at play. The team doctors, after one game, diagnosed Eric with a rib injury and sent him back to his hotel. That night a teammate discovered Eric nearly dead in a bathtub. He was unresponsive, pale and cold to the touch. Once again the team doctors unaware of the severity asked him to just fly back to Philly for tests. The teammate instead called an ambulance and it was discovered that Eric had a collapsed lung and nearly died. Not only would the flight itself have killed him, but also the delay in immediate treatment. That teammate was Keith Jones, current on air TV personality for the Philadelphia Flyers. He saved Lindros's life.

All too often, money takes precedent over injury. Team doctors are of course not ordered to look the other way, but what happens is that the "team" doesn't want to order a player unfit to play..at any cost.

Now, we know the cost is too high. Teams are finally being held accountable for the treatment of their players. Now when a player goes down, We know what the cost is and We know that the player shouldn't be allowed back out in the arena or on the field. We know when a team is looking the other way to let their cash cows eventually destroy their brains.

Because of this new knowledge, Sydney Crosby, star Penguins player might live to play another day without the fear of CTE. He has been benched for what seems like forever since his concussion. He's probably out for the season now. Good.

It is called degenerative for a reason. The effects are not immediate. It takes years for the symptoms of brain trauma to surface. A player that gets hit today and plays next week may one day suffer memory loss, aggression, confusion and depression to the point of being suicidal.

All contact sports players are at risk.

Doctors now know that Lou Gehrig suffered from CTE and not the disease which has his name.

Football players Lou Creekmur, John Grimsley, Chris Henry and Tom McHale have all been diagnosed with post-mortem CTE. Eleven other players have been diagnosed after death with it, too.

Hockey player Reggie Fleming had it. Now we know Probert had it. How many more players will it affect? Lindros?

Pro Wrestler Chris Benoit had it as did Andrew Martin.

From Wiki:
"Boston University researchers also found CTE in an amateur football player, 21-year old University of Pennsylvania lineman Owen Thomas, following his suicide. Thomas was the second amateur football player diagnosed with CTE, after Mike Borich, who died at 42.

On December 21, 2009, the National Football League Players Association announced that it would collaborate with the CSTE at the Boston University School of Medicine to support the Center's study of repetitive brain trauma in athletes. In 2008, twelve living athletes (active and retired), including hockey players Pat LaFontaine and Noah Welch as well as former NFL star Ted Johnson, committed to donate their brains to CSTE after their deaths. In 2009, NFL Pro Bowlers Matt Birk, Lofa Tatupu, and Sean Morey pledged to donate their brains to the CSTE. In 2010, 20 more NFL players pledged to join the CSTE Brain Donation Registry. As of 2010, the CSTE Brain Donation Registry consists of over 250 current and former athletes.

In February 2011, Dave Duerson committed suicide, leaving text messages to loved ones asking that his brain be donated to research for CTE."

This is new and startling. A growing trend of suicidal players. Chris Benoit, unfortunately, killed his entire family before killing himself.

Boston University deserves to be commended for this CTE study and hopefully the sports we all love will find a safer way to protect their players.

The Middle East Uprising, The Price of Gas and How We are Being Screwed

The Middle East Uprising and the Price of Gas
HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER.

The Suez canal is open, the oil fields are still "producing" and NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

OPEC sets the price of oil per barrel. OPEC is a group of 12 men sitting around a table, arbitrarily raising oil prices AT WHIM.

Oh sure, it's easy to link the two. That's what "they" want you to believe.
But the fact is: The Suez canal was NEVER CLOSED FOR EVEN A MINUTE due to the Egyptian revolts, Libyan oil is still being shipped as it was 3 weeks ago regardless of Gaddafi and Saudi Arabia NEVER EVEN HAD AN UPRISING.

WE ARE BEING ROBBED, RIPPED OFF AND SCAMMED.

What is OPEC?
It stands for "Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries"

What do you mean twelve men?
OPEC is comprised of twelve countries:
Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait
Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela
The United Arab Emirates

Read those names again!

How many of those countries are involved in the Middle East revolts?
2 or 3?

Have any of them have stopped producing or have limited oil shipments?
NONE OF THEM. NOT ONE.

The only thing driving up oil and subsequently gas prices is OPEC's bottomless pit of GREED and plain old fear mongering.

"OPEC's influence on the market has been widely criticized, since it became effective in determining production and prices."
This has been known for years!

Can you hear Dick Cheney and Halliburton laughing? Halliburton is the world's leading "oil field services company". Every time oil prices go up, they make money, too.

All of this madness must stop.

You Can't Kill Me. I'm Too Cute

"SULPHUR, Oklahoma -- He was euthanized, declared dead and left in a dumpster, but somehow a three-month-old puppy is alive and now has whole new future ahead of him.

Wall-e, along with the rest of his litter, was left outside the Sulphur dog shelter. He and his littermates were put to sleep because they appeared to be very sick. The vet checked their pulse and declared every one dead. But the next morning, Animal Control Officer Scott Prall looked in the dumpster and saw Wall-e wandering around.

"He was just as healthy as could be," Prall said, who added Wall-e was named after the Pixar robot who was the last of his kind."

WOW! What a cute little guy...and he finally has some good luck! The shelter is being flooded with calls to adopt him.

After the second lethal injection failed to kill him, Wall-e was quoted as saying "Is that all you got?"

VIMANA FOUND!!???!!

It's being reported on independent news sites that an ancient East Indian Vimana has been found in a cave in Afghanistan!

Vimanas are the source for the mystical ancient Persian flying carpet. It is a vehicle that flies. Detailed schematics have been pieced together from the ancient Sanskrit epic The Mahabharata, which accounts four different types of these machines. Reading the Mahabharata is like reading the most wild of science fictio and it was penned thousands of years ago.

From the Article:
"A peculiar report prepared for Prime Minister Putin by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) circulating in the Kremlin today states that German Chancellor Angela Merkel has become the latest in a growing line of Western leaders to make a ‘surprise’ visit to Afghanistan this month and follows visits by United States President Obama (December 3rd), British Prime Minister David Cameron (December 7th) and French President Nicolas Sarkozy (December 8th).

Only Sarkozy’s trip, this report says, was concealed as he was already in India on a state visit when ‘rushed’ by a US Military aircraft to the Afghan war zone.

What caused the sudden rush of these most powerful leaders of the Western World to go to Afghanistan, this report continues, was to directly view the discovery by US Military scientists of what is described as a “Vimana” entrapped in a “Time Well” that has already caused the “disappearance” of at least 8 American Soldiers trying to remove it from the cave it has been hidden in for the past estimated 5,000 years"

This story is probably a hoax, but the general content is not. Vimanas exsisted at one point in ancient history. We're not sure about the whole "time well" thing, though. ALTHOUGH, this would account for a US military incursion into Afghanistan the past 8 or 10 years. Hmmm....

FABULOUS RELATED ARTICLE - A MUST READ!

That's No Moon. It's a Space Station.

Fans of the Star Wars movies will recognize the above quote by "Obi-Wan Kenobi."

Referring to the object that closely resembles our moon, it turns out that the object was a space station built by the nefarious Emperor. It was actually a weapon of mass destruction used to obliterate an entire planet. Poor Alderaan.

This is all fiction of course, but truth is often stranger than fiction and there are MANY weird things about our own moon that should be pointed out.

From an excerpt of an interview with Chris Knight ("Civilization One" and "Uriel's Machine") current author of "Who Built the Moon?"

1) The Moon sits very close to the Earth yet it is widely regarded as the strangest object in the known universe.

2) The Moon does not have a solid core like every other planetary object. It is either hollow or has a very low-density interior. Bizarrely, its concentration of mass are located at a series of points just under its surface – which caused havoc with early lunar spacecraft.

3) The Moon is not only extremely odd in its construction; it also behaves in a way that is nothing less than miraculous. It is exactly four hundred times smaller than the Sun but four hundred times closer to the Earth so that both the Sun and the Moon appear to be precisely the same size in the sky – which gives us the phenomenon we call a total eclipse. Whilst we take this for granted it has been called the biggest coincidence in the universe.

"How does one explain the "coincidence" that the moon is just the right distance, coupled with just the right diameter, to completely cover the sun during an eclipse? Again, Isaac Asimov responds, "There is no astronomical reason why the moon and the sun should fit so well. It is the sheerest of coincidences, and only the Earth among all the planets is blessed in this fashion." It has a stationary, near-perfect circular orbit." From: Informant News

4) Furthermore, the Moon mirrors the movement of the Sun in the sky by rising and setting at the same point on the horizon as the Sun does at opposite solstices. For example, this means the Moon rises at midwinter at the same place the Sun does at midsummer. There is no logical reason why the Moon mimics the Sun in this way and it is only meaningful to a human standing on the Earth.

5) If the Moon was not exactly the size, mass and distance that it has been at each stage of the Earth's evolution there would be no intelligent life here. Scientists are agreed that we owe everything to the Moon. This is because the moon acts as a stabilizer that holds our planet at just the right angle to produce the seasons and keep water liquid across most of the planet. Without our Moon the Earth would be as dead and solid as Venus.

Main Article link

This is only the beginning of what's "wrong" with the moon.

Some other facts:

Galileo was the first person "in history" to use a telescope from Earth to make scientific observations of the moon in 1609.

The Moon is the only object in the Universe in which mankind from Earth has set foot.

Flashes of lights, tracks and other anomalies have been seen on the moon.

When struck by an object, say the lunar landing module of November 20, 1969 from the Apollo 12 NASA mission, the moon rings like a bell. In this particular case it rang and reverberated for more than an hour.

The moon is FAR older than Earth. A billion years older (Earth: 4.6 billion years old, the moon 5.3 billion) AND the dust on the surface at LEAST one billion years older than the rocks. Hmmm?

The moon rocks do not match the chemical composition of the dust/dirt around them. They CAME FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE.

The moon rocks are also MAGNETIZED. Yes, they are Magnetic Rocks. Sounds silly, but think about it. The moon has no magnetic field!

The moon "suffers" hundreds of "moonquakes" a year. These are not attributable to meteor strikes. There is no explainable reason for such seismic activity. There are no volcanoes on the moon.

The moon contains "rustproof" particles.*

There are strange structures on the moon including "The Lunar Bridge", "The Shard", "The Tower" and "The Obelisks." WE ARE NOT MAKING THIS UP! Check out this video and then go ahead and google these words. There are hundreds of pages of material out there.

Twelve astronauts walked on the Moon between 1969 and 1972. We've never gone back.

We did bring back 842 pounds of Moon rocks.

We're not even getting to the Apollo conversations with NASA Control which contain censored material regarding the astronauts seeing UFO's, structures and God knows what else, including the warning from "aliens" to never go back to the moon.

So is the moon an artificial object?

Several early civilizations wrote that they remembered a time without the moon and the time it came into being:

"Greek authors Aristotle and Plutarch, and Roman authors Apolllonius Rhodius and Ovid all wrote of a group of people called the Proselenes who lived in the central mountainous area of Greece called Arcadia The Proselenes claimed title to this area because their forebears were there "before there was a moon in the heavens." This claim is substantiated by symbols on the wall of the Courtyard of Kalasasaya, near the city of Tiahuanaco, Bolivia, which record that the moon came into orbit around the Earth between 11,500 and 13,000 years ago, long before recorded history."

Conan Arthur Doyle wrote his protagonist Sherlock Holmes this apt saying: "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

Given all the weird anomalous facts about the moon, its mysteries, its in your face defiance of analysis, its worthy to consider that this may be a possibility.

So if it is an artifical structure, who built it, drove it here, parked it here and WHY?

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare

In other words, there are no words. Something like this is beyond our comprehension. Until we had television, we had no word for "box with moving images". Until we get the alien memo detailing what the moon really is and what is for and why, everything else is pure speculation.

And we think it's worth speculating.

Note: * The Pillar of Delhi is over 1,600 years old, made of iron and has never rusted. Is it made from material from the moon? It even has the word moon inscribed on it!

"He who, having the name of Chandra, carried a beauty of countenance like the full moon, having in faith fixed his mind upon Vishnu, this lofty standard of the divine Vishnu set up on the hill Vishnupada."

SHOCK: Animal Cruelty at Soccer Match

A Columbian soccer match between Barranquilla and Pereira turned ugly when the Pereira's team mascot, an owl, landed on the field and was hit by a ball and injured. Things got REALLY BAD when a Barranquilla player, Luis Moreno, ran to the bird and kicked it. Hard.

The crowd went wild, screaming "Murderer, Murderer!" Moreno had to be escorted off the field and off the premises by police when the crowd threatened to kill him.

It wasn't just the fans who were angry either. As soon as he had kicked the animal, Moreno was confronted by angry Junior players on the pitch.

'I was so angry he hit the little animal, especially after it had already been hit by the ball,' Junior striker Luis Paez told El Heraldo newspaper. 'I told him a bunch of rude things, I really felt enraged.'

Moreno left the Metropolitano ground under heavy police guard and later said sorry for hurting the owl, which lives in the stadium.

'I apologize to the fans, it wasn't my intention, I did it to see if the owl could fly,' said Moreno."

BULLSHIT! No he did not. Having viewed the videotape it is our opinion that this asshole was trying to just clear the field, with no regard to the injured bird. It was just an object to be booted away to make room for the game. It's the lamest excuse we've ever heard.

Anyway, "The incident has also caused anger among animal welfare groups and the president of the Animal and Environmental Network, Marcela Ramirez, has called for a protest in front of the Nacional Soccer building in Bogotato demand sanctions against Moreno." He also faces 1 to 3 months in prison plus a hefty fine.

The owl which lived in the stadium and has been a good luck charm for the team, later died of it's injuries. Injuries directly related to the player and not the initial hit.

Columbia does not have any animal cruelty laws. This guy will be charged with other things like 'property damage' and that sort of thing.

It is our hope that this incident which caused national outrage will change all that. This little owl may have died but perhaps not in vain. Through this public act of cruelty the people of Columbia may write laws to protect all animals.

Showdown of Old at MSG

John McEnroe and Ivan Lendl...together again

What a treat it was last night to see the BNP Paribas Showdown at Madison Square Garden featuring Andre Agassi vs. Pete Sampras and John McEnroe vs. Ivan Lendl!

What happened to the young in-their-prime men we used to know? Agassi and Sampras look OLD. Old. Old. And Johnny Mac and Ivan "you won't like me when I'm angry" Lendl looked ANCIENT. Extremely ancient - like the grandfathers they are.

However, looks are deceiving as each one of these legends of tennis still plays AWESOME!

Pete Sampras' serve seems to have even gotten better. And his serve is and always will be the VERY BEST TENNIS HAS EVER SEEN. He won the match against his friend/archenemy rival Andre, 6-3, 7-5. Andre seemed to wake up in the second set and had a good chance to tie it, but Pete's serve is still unbeatable. There was no radar at the game last night to clock Pete's serve but Brad Gilbert estimated that is was well in the 130's range. 130 + miles per hour. So much for old.

The two seemed to enjoy themselves this time (we won't mention what happened last year at a charity match, when more of the archenemy of them came out and not so much the friend part. Let's just say it got ugly, petty and mean.) The two made up for it last night. It was all smiles and nostalgia.

Madison Square Garden welcomed these Tennis Gods with open arms and the love was reciprocated in the fullest. It was great to see Pete and Andre again. One of the greatest sports rivalries in history. In fact, at the end of 'Showdown', we were reminded by Mac's little brother and commentator Patrick McEnroe to enjoy the Rafael Nadal/Roger Federer rivalry that has been going on the last few years. It too is a moment in history that we will look back on with such nostalgia when 15-20 years from now those two legends will be bantering and playing for charity and we will hear ourselves saying, "Oh! Remember when these two would battle for hours in 5-set barn burners? It seems like yesterday."

Poor John McEnroe sprained his ankle during warmups - he is after all...Old. And so the great match up between him and Lendl only went 9 games in before Mac had to retire for the night. He looked devastated. But during play, let me tell you, the Old Mac Was Back. McEnroe was on fire, playing some of the best tennis we've seen him play since he retired. He looked great on court. Ivan, not so much, but still for his great age, he'd beat any of your asses in two seconds. It was so great to see him again! Mac was in such pain though with the ankle that an aborted match was all we could ask for. Anyone else would have been in the emergency room and not trying to play. Way to go, Mac.

What fun! The crowd - a sell out of 17,165, was on it's feet cheering it's head off for these 4 superstars of tennis yore. Awesome!

"We played pretty good for a couple of old guys," Sampras said, clearly thrilled with his showing.

"I came back to the people I love to say hello," Agassi said. "Hopefully, we created a little nostalgia. That's why we're here."

Oh and regarding the "Incident" last year here's what the two had to say:

"We've straightened it out," Agassi said. "Like I've said 150 times, it was a complete mistake on my part. 'Hit for Haiti' raised a lot of money; we did a lot of good things. But we unfortunately had a microphone on our mouths, and I was talking a lot. One thing wasn't good."

"In my eyes, it's over," Sampras said. "It's unfortunate what happened. Andre apologized. It's just one of those things that sort of got blown out of proportion over the last six months. We're still here. He's a rival and a friend."

Last night proved the hatchet was buried..and not in each others backs anymore.
