Sports Update - June 29,2009
Proving that the US does not have a deal with the devil and that hell has not frozen over - the US lost to Brazil 3-2. What made the situation unbearable was that the US led THE ENTIRE FIRST HALF OF THE GAME 2-0.
The Johannesburg buzz was intense, though. Can't wait to see what's next for World Cup qualifiers.
WIMBLEDON:
The Williams sister's continue to dominate once again. Serena and Venus made the quarterfinals easily and Venus looks like she will take home the prize this year.
Today, Federer beat Soderling to make it into the quarter finals. Surprise! Without Rafa in the game it looks like Roger will walk away with all the majors again. We're rooting for the Andy's! Let's go Murray and Roddick!

2010 FIFA World Cup - South Africa
Qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup began in March and will continue throughout the year. Currently, the Confederations Cup 2009 is underway in South Africa where the US men's team played it up and scored a HUGE victory over the Spanish team. The Spanish, in a 34 game undefeated streak, were completely shocked and stunned when the US beat them into the ground 3-0 in a barn burner the other day. Not being huge Landon Donovan fans we are pleased to know he at least assisted on one goal. Very few people on Earth thought the US had a chance in hell in making the finals here. This victory is pretty awesome. This is great news for the team which has a rep for not being able to seal the deal. Way to go guys! The final this Sunday should be interesting and if they pull it off, miraculous. Let's hope Hell is still frozen over when it happens.
Only four teams have have clinched a place in the 2010 World Cup. Australia, Japan and..hold your breath...the 2 Korea's. The North Korean Team, which does exist, stunned Iran with a 1-1 draw leaving them out. This was another huge upset that leaves the N. Koreans with an historic qualification. Let's hope they don't nuke anyone before 2010.
The South American division is engaged in a super heated battle between 8 teams within ten points of each other. Right now, Venezuela and Columbia are tied with 17 points each.

Tour De France - Update 6/25/2009
Astana's sponsors had failed, up until a few days ago, to provide the money they were obligated for. A cool $6 million.
The ambiguity of possible failed sponsorship created an internal panic spurring Lance and Co. to set up another entity in case of total sponsor collapse. Livestrong-Nike was born. (We LIKE!!)
Lance rode under this name at last Sunday's Nevada City Classic - his other teammates did not.
Livestrong-Nike was to be officially launched last Saturday (6/20). However, now that Astanas sponsors have ponied up, that all goes away. For now. Lance will resurrect L-N for his own team in 2010. Still, this has to way heavily on his mind.
The other problem inside the team seems to be an ongoing debate over Alberto Contador jumping ship. He's shopped himself out to at least two other teams behind Astanas back and seems to have an alliance with Alejandro Valverde of Team Caisse D' Epargne. This is bad. Bad.
Alberto is supposed to have Lance's back during the Tour. Not knowing if he is friend or foe when he is your own teammate is...bad!
Well, well, well...The game is afoot.
We bet on Lance!

News You Should Know - 6/23/2009
- One Hundred Thousand March in London in Genocide Protest
Tamil supporters rallied in London last Saturday (6/20/9), to protest global indifference to the concentration camps in Sri Lanka that contains hundreds of thousands of Tamil people, the minority ethnic group in that country. These people are being held against their will in concentration camps. We didn't know, did you? And that's just the people that are accounted for. Thousands more Tamil people have been killed outright.
With Iran getting all the attention this week, and rightly so, we'd like to highlight this unfortunate situation in Sri Lanka.

- Major Climate Legislation Vote Due This Week
Environmentalists are left shaking their heads and fists at what constitutes climate change policy in this country. And they aren't just mad at the government. In-fighting between and inside many major environmental groups is at an all time high as members cannot come to grips with the options on the table. Do a little now and pass a vomit inducing shitball climate bill named Waxman-Marky? Or, wait to write a stronger one in say 10 years...?

- America Has A Spaceport!
This is for real. We only say that because we couldn't believe it either. New Mexico is apparently super excited to spend $200 million building a FAA approved spaceport facility for Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic Flights. Wow. Virgin Galactic Flights. Do you get peanuts served to you in space? And how long before it becomes a wretched hive of scum and villainy?

Archeology Site of the Month - June 2009
The Omni Report would like to highlight various archaeological and World Heritage Sites every month because we are always amazed by the technological advancements of the ancients. The architectural and engineering skills that were employed to construct some of these ancient wonders is sometimes beyond even our current technological abilities and they are astonishing to see, to this day.
The massive temple complex of Luxor in Egypt is beyond spectacular even though the site, for the most part, lies in ruin. The site dates back thousands of years, probably to Old Kingdom period and has been expanded upon over time by Pharaohs and others, including the Romans who built here as well. There are many rooms and temples to explore here at Luxor. The scale of construction is gargantuan. For example, in the temple built by Amenhotep III there are 14 columns each over 63 feet in height. The massive columns dwarf the visitor and are awe inspiring. The wooden roofs they once supported are long gone. One has to use your imagination to bring the regal temple back to life. Banners and streamers once shone in the sun, displayed upon long posts that disintegrated eons ago.
Two red granite obelisks once stood at the entrance of the Courtyard of Ramses. One of the obelisks was taken to Paris where it remains to this day, erected in the Place de Concorde. You can see it every July on tv when the Tour De France cyclists circle Paris on the final day of the race. The other obelisk is over 75 feet in height and stands in place as it has for thousands of years.
Giant statues of Amun, God of Fertility, and his consort, Mut as well as a statue of Isis are located within the complex.
Not all of Luxors treasures can be seen and many many more lie undiscovered. An archaeological dig in the late 1980's uncovered a hidden cache of statuary, including a larger than life representation of Amenhotep III. It is carved from a single block of solid red quartzite.
German mathematician, R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz, spent over 15 years studying the Temple of Luxor. He likened the vast complex to the human body. Specifically, in his acclaimed and awesome book, The Temple of Man, he makes the connection that each structure, every chamber joint corresponds anatomically to man. Lubicz believed this temple to be a metaphysical bridge of the sacred science of the Ancient Egyptians to the present and our technological rediscovery of it. He tells us that the Egyptians incorporated numerology and a spiritual awareness to the temple construction.
He work is fascinating. Wonderous. Amazing. Today the expression "think out of the box" is common and corporate. Bland. When R.A. Schwaller came up with this iconoclastic epiphanous break through, he was truly thinking outside of the polygon! He is in our humble opinion - a Genius.

Tour De France 2009 - Preview
21 Stages:
- 8 Mountain Stage w/ 3 mountain finishes!
- 10 Flat stages
- 3 Time Trials - (1 Team trial)
and
LANCE!!
We didn't want to get excited early but now we can hardly wait to see Lance Armstrong compete in the Tour this year. Do you think he has a chance? Obviously he has the talent, the will, the drive. This years tour features a first. A mountain stage on the day before Paris. Traditionally, watching Lance take a mountain is like watching a skier being towed up a lift. Effortless. Amazing. Truly, Ripley's Believe it or Not territory. Will Lance ride this mountain all the way down to champagne on the Champs Elysees? We'll see.
Of course, we are looking forward to seeing our favorite announcers ever. Any Sport. Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwin and Bob "Do I really look that much like, Shrek?" Roll. We miss Big Al Trautwig. Does anyone remember the machete incident?
Alot of our favorite riders are back. Here's a rundown of winners for the major tours this year so far:
Giro d'Italia : Dennis Menchov - Rabobank
Tour Down Under: Allan Davis - Quickstep
Dauphine Libere: Alejandro Valverde - GCE
Cadel Evans - and Alberto Contador 2nd and 3rd
Tour of Qatar: Big Tommy "Cokehead" Boonen - Quickstep (Booted off this years Tour as of 6/18/09 for positive cocaine tests. How very 1970's of you, Tom. We're disappointed.)
Team Columbia Highroad riding under that name for the first time but welcoming back veteran Big George Hincapie. Hincapie is the only rider in history to have ridden on 8 - Yes, EIGHT, Tour Winning Teams. And he married a podium girl. Some guys are born lucky. Never before has he rivaled Lance in a Tour - he's always been Lance's right hand man. So with Armstrong on Team Astana this year - it should be interesting.
This years tour begins in breathtakingly beautiful Monaco - Stage 1 is an individual time trial through the city itself.

Conspiracy Theory of the Month - June 2009
They're out there, you know. The crazy people who believe the government is behind everything and that nothing is as it seems, or was and historical fact is fiction.
The Omni Report brings you the most popular theories of conspiracy because they're fun, scary and we believe in keeping our minds open. Truth is always stranger than fiction.
Remember once upon a time, Galileo was considered a crazy conspiracist who was trying to bring down the Catholic Church by writing ludicrous and untruthful stories about the Earth revolving around the Sun. Funny, huh?
These covert government military actions or non-actions are also known as Black Operations. The definition of a false flag op is a covert operation conducted by a government, corporation or other organization, which is designed to deceive the public in such a way that the operation appears to have been carried out by another entity altogether.
This was brilliantly and literally displayed in the great and awesome movie, Captain Blood, when Errol Flynn sails straight into Port Royal Harbor flying a false flag - a Spanish one. He's able to sneak in, under this pretense, only to raise the British flag and drive off the invading Spanish ships.
Todays false flag ops do not involve an actual flag nor do they have to involve a literal action.
Non-action can be just as devastating. There are conspiracy theories involving the events of Pearl Harbor. Many believe the government knew the Japanese were coming and deliberately did NOTHING. Thus, opening the door for us to "legitimately" enter WWII.
In this way, False Flags/Black Ops are used to begin wars. Many countries are on record for using this tactic as a pretext for war - Japan, Germany, Russia, Israel. De-classified CIA archive documents exposed a US False Flag op against an Iranian Leader in the 1950's. Not, that the US would possibly be up to anything like that again, right? And that must have been the FIRST time we did anything like that.
In a weird modern take on a false flag attack, a woman in 2008 deliberately marked her own face and claimed she was attacked by someone from an opposing political party. She was trying to discredit that party by falsely staging an attack and swaying public opinion.
The most widespread false flag conspiracy theory are the events that occurred on 9/11/01. This one is a real doozy and involves more than a dozen reasons and explanations including inconsistencies, undoctored photos and video coverage, testimonials, statements, physics, resulting outcomes, etc... The bottom line being that the US either committed 9/11 attacks outright or let it happen ala Pearl Harbor to justify a myriad of circumstances including wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and heavy handed homeland security laws.

Wimbledon 2009
Our relief is in knowing that he will finally relax and concentrate on healing his knees. Watching him lose two days in a row in straight sets was unimaginable. Go and rest Rafa! We wish you well. Wimbledon 2009 will not be the same without you.
Is it Murray's year? McEnroe is on record saying that it could be for a number of reasons including the fact that Murray's "legs are bigger". Wow. Really, John? They'd have to be the size of a London double decker to beat Roger. Murray might make the finals because he is a Brit and everyone in London is completely jazzed for him to win. Roddick for his part said the Murray hype is "extremely warranted". Go get 'em Andy!
The first round draws are unspectacular. Look for Safin to be playing his final Wimbledon amongst rumours that he is retiring at the end of the season.
Montfils withdrew today because of a wrist injury as well as Baghdatis with a knee problem. Two great players that will be missed.
On the Ladies side, the Williams sisters are back. Blah. Venus will try to defend her title. Sorry, we're rooting for Dinara Safina. Watching her lose so many finals is painful. She deserves one.
The Omni Report has the lastest Wimbledon updates on our news stream. Check it out for daily updates. The 2009 Wimbledon Championships run from this Monday, June 22 through July 5.

News Update on South American Indians
The recent clash between indigenous peoples and Peruvian national police sends a powerful message from the Amazon jungle straight to Washington: The enormous social, political, and environmental costs of the free-trade model are no longer acceptable.
Using a combined offensive of helicopter and ground forces, the police attacked a peaceful demonstration of 2,000 Wampi and Aguaruna indigenous people near the town of Bagua. The protesters belong to the interethnic Association for the Development of the Peruvian Jungle, an organization of about 300,000 members and 1,350 communities in the region. They blocked roads and occupied oil facilities to protest the executive decrees of President Alan García to implement the U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (TPA). The decrees open up the Amazon to foreign investment, particularly gas and oil extraction

First, the police fire tear gas, then rubber bullets. As protesters flee, they move on to live rounds. One man, wearing only a pair of shorts, stops to raise his hands in surrender. He is knocked to the ground and given an extended beating by eight policemen in black body-armour and helmets.
Demonstrators getting worked-over by the rifle butts and truncheons of Peru's security forces turn out to be the lucky ones, though. Dozens more were shot as they fled. You can see their bullet-ridden bodies, charred by a fire that swept through the scene of the incident, which has since been dubbed "the Amazon's Tiananmen".

Here the Peruvian government admits "mistakes were made". What a joke.
Peru's President Alan García addressed to the nation calling for reconciliation among Peruvians, after the violent events in Bagua that left 24 police officers and 10 natives dead. Garcia asked the Congress to approve the repeal of legislative decrees 1090 and 1064, the one that the natives are rejecting.

News You Should Know...6/18/2009
Our goal is to provide the 2 or 3 stories that you might have missed and should be aware of. We hope to balance this section with stories of inspiration as well as the cold hard truth. Let's see what happening on Earth today....
- Happy Birthday to AUNG SAN SUU KYI
Today, June 18th, is Aung's 64th birthday. We mark this occasion to remember another political prisoner who needs our help. Aung Kyi was awarded the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought in 1991 and Nobel Peace Prize in 1992. She was elected by the people to be Prime Minister of Burma (Myanmar), but instead has spent the last 19 years either in hiding or languishing as a prisoner in horrendous conditions, as she is today.
Beginning of article:
YANGON (AFP) — Supporters of Myanmar democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi made preparations around the world Thursday to mark her 64th birthday, with calls for her release from jail as she faces trial by the ruling junta.

- Animal Migrations - A Thing of the Past
Yet, another sign that we are in big trouble. Studies are still inconclusive, data is scarce or non-existent, however, what data has been analyzed shows that in Africa alone, five of the big six migrating species - no longer migrate at all. Zero.
Beginning of article:
Africa is home to spectacular migration events. Large mammals ranging from Grant's gazelles to blue wildebeests pound their hooves across vast tracts of land as the seasons change. New research suggests, however, that migrations across the continent might be going extinct.

News You Should Know...6/15/2009
These two stories reflect the genuine struggles that two nations are dealing with today. Do not be distracted by your daily troubles. There are people that need your help.
- The Iranian People's Protest over Fradulent Elections:
We need to remember that Iran is NOT Iraq. Most of the popluation is under 30 years old and is pro-democratic favoring western style thinking.
Beginning of article:
Massive rivers of people defied authorities and poured into Tehran's Freedom Square today chanting "Death to the dictator!" and "We want our vote back!" in an unprecedented display of civil disobedience and a rebuke to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, reelected president over the weekend amid allegations of rampant voter fraud.

- South American Indians Clash over Big Oil
Once again, the indigenous people of South America are fighting the systematic destruction of their ancestral homelands as Big Oil continues its Mordorian tactics. This is serious folks. And seriously underreported. These people need our help and if not for them - then selfishly for us. The Rainforest are the lungs of our planet. When they die. We die.
Beginning of article:
It has been called the world’s second “oil war,” but the only similarity between Iraq and events in the jungles of northern Peru over the last few weeks has been the mismatch of force. On one side have been the police armed with automatic weapons, tear gas, helicopter gunships and armored cars. On the other are several thousand Awajun and Wambis natives, many of them in war paint and armed with bows and arrows and spears.
In some of the worst violence seen in Peru in 20 years, the natives this week warned Latin America what could happen if companies are given free access to the Amazonian forests to exploit an estimated 6 billion barrels of oil and take as much timber they like. After months of peaceful protests, the police were ordered to use force to remove a road bock near Bagua Grande.

Our Phavorite Philles Players
Part 1 of a series
Raul Javier Ibanez!
Philles - Left Field
He practically leads the league in everything and we LOVE him.
Here are the top 5 reasons he IS NOT ON STEROIDS:
1) He doesn't look like it. He's not puffy faced. And he sure doesn't act like it - he smiles and is generally good natured and HAPPY.
2) He's working out more. Ask any of the guys. They'll tell you. Raul hits the gym hard and often!
3) He's getting better pitches. He is surrounded by talent and isn't being walked or thrown shit like when he was in Seattle. For him it literally IS a whole new ballgame.
4) He's happy to be on a winning team! He's part of the "World Fucking Champions" (Thank you, Mr. Utley) and he knows it.
5) He's giving 100% every game, every time. Period. We've loved him since day 1 and can't wait to see him help us win another series.
Let's all CELEBRATE RAUL IBANEZ and not berate him! And let's run a certain radio personality out of town for even suggesting that Ibanez is juicing. Go pick on someone else's team, not your supposed own. Parasite.
Raul in the off season as Imhotep
