The Day Seattle Died...

Layne "The Man in the Box" Staley...

Our apologies for being a day late with this article...

We lost two of Seattle's legendary musicians on an April 5th day.

In 1994, Kurt Cobain put a shotgun to his head and ended the era of music known as Grunge, which he had founded in the late 80's with his band Nirvana. His body wasn't found until April 8th.

In 2002, The Great Layne Staley died in his home of a heroin overdose. Staley's band, Alice in Chains, was also groundbreaking in it's sound, style and vocalizations, making it one of the 90's most influential bands. Layne's body was sadly not discovered for more than 2 weeks. A memorial by fans was held on April 20th of that year. Staley died doing a speedball combo which was what killed the great John Belushi back in the early 1980's. We have still not recovered from losing Layne and will miss him, his lyrics and sweet, sweet voice forever.

R.I.P - Layne Staley and Kurt Cobain - 2 of Rock Music's most addicted and tortured rock talents.
