The 2011 Australian Open is underway!
Roger Federer and Rod Laver (Tennis Grand Champion and native Queenslander) organized a exhibition fundraiser for the flood victims the day before the tournament called "Rally for Relief." 14 tennis champs entertained the crowds raising over $2 million dollars at Rod Laver Arena.
Team Gold, led by Lleyton Hewitt, included Novak Djokovic, Ana Ivanovic, Justine Henin, Caroline Wozniacki, Roger Federer and Sam Stosur.
Queenslander Pat Rafter led Team Green, which comprised Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, Victoria Azarenka, Vera Zvonareva, Rafael Nadal and Kim Clijsters.
Oh, how much do we miss Patrick Rafter since he retired?! Alot!
Lance Armstrong in Australia now for the Tour Down Under donated $50,000. Way to go, Lance! When Federer calls, people listen. This years fundraiser was held exactly one year to the day when the stars held "Hit for Haiti." These guys and gals are a class act all the way!
Except for: Bitch Sharapova was no where to be seen. Oh wait, yes she was, she was posing for cameras dripping with diamonds and talking about herself at some fancy hotel. She wasn't associated with the fund raiser AT ALL. Surprise!

God Bless people like Roger and The 'ANDY'S' for at least they recognize and TRY!! Maria is a classless bitch so why start being nice now?? She's the only player i know who has won a major but still pumps her fists and talks to herself while beating an unranked,unknown player(who she is supposed to beat easily anyway..another classless act)!! She is what is wrong with all sports but thank GOD for the great equalizers of sports.Plus wipe the scowl off your face you stupid self centered asswipe.Oh i forgot its her gameface....gimme a break. Andy Murray doing the soccer thing then heading the ball over the net was pricelees. Also Roddick just picking it up and throwing it over was very funny too!! Novak is also one of my favorites(all around great guy). I'm glad that these guys and gals get for Maria clearly doesnt!! Nice Article again Omni and THANXS FOR CARING about some really nice people!!
