Andy celebrates his hard-earned Stage win today
Balls Out: To exude tremendous effort, to try extremely hard
BRAVO ANDY!!!!
STAGE 18 SHOCKER!
IT WAS AN EPIC DAY IN THE TOUR as Andy Schleck (Team TEAM LEOPARD-TREK) attacks on the second climb of the day, overcomes the breakaway leader and rides to victory on the highest climb EVER on the Tour on the most beautiful day in the French Alps.
Andy made up over a minutes time and is now only 15 seconds from the Yellow Jersey with Thomas Voeckler clinging to it one more night in a shocking display of power from the Frenchman.
Voeckler's pain was clearly written across his face as he valiantly rode up the 3 steepest climbs of the Tour including the Galibier pass. Voeckler is not known for mountain stages and it was on-the-edge-of-your-seat action as the world watched Andy ascend and attack and try like hell to not only win the stage but to take the Yellow as well.
If Andy can keep this up and attack one more day, he'll own the maillot jaune (Yellow Jersey) and win in Paris on Sunday.
Another action packed day in the Alps is set for tomorrow with the peloton riding the famed Alpe d'Huez. The Alpe d'Huez is as anticipated as the Col Du Tourmalet and WE CANNOT WAIT!
Saturday's time trial will be a barnburner as Cadel Evans and maybe Alberto Contador will try and wrestle the Yellow back from Andy (we think he'll have it after tomorrow).
Sunday's ride to Paris WILL BE SPECTACULAR in what has been the best tour of the past decade.
