Australian Open RESULTS: MEGA MATCH

Novak Djokovic 2012 Austrialian Open Champion

There were no losers in the epic men's championship in Australia today. Two champions of the sport gave their ALL in an unrelenting battle that lasted just 7 minutes shy of SIX HOURS, setting a record for the longest final in Open history.

Novak Djokovic edged out Rafael Nadal in a 5-set barnburner that brought the roof down in Melbourne.

We've never seen anything like it - EVER - and we've been watching for the better part of over 30 years. It was a mind-blowing contest, a match for the fucking ages. Nothing has ever come close to the sheer physical battle and test of willpower that these two men gave us today. NOTHING.

It was such a long match that in the end both men were left in utter shock. They were on the very edge of collapse, needing chairs to sit in for the ceremony, both in danger of not even being conscious for the trophies! In our opinion, Novak and Rafa desperately needed medical attention and stood just long enough to receive the trophies.

There were no jubilant victory dances today. No, Novak Djokovic was left barely able to stand as he took his award and he and Rafa gave very brief statements before probably pitching headfirst into stretchers for a host of medical treatments.

It was truly the most epic match of all time and we watched every single second.

The first set led to a Rafa Nadal lead, as he nabbed it 7-5. Novak took it from there with an easy next 2 set lead 6-3, 6-5.

That's when just 5 points shy of the win, over 4 hours in, Rafa got fired up to win the 4th set and force a 5th.

Novak and Rafa were hitting rallies that would put other players to shame, each demonstrating why they are number one and two in the world, while in the midst of their 5th hour on the court. Lesser men would have collapsed but these champs braved the humidity and heat of Melbourne, the brief rainstorm that swept inside before the delay of the roof closure, and the bugs and crazy ass loud birds of Australia dropping feathers all over the place at one point to give the world the best tennis match in the history of the sport.

No losers today. These guys are the real deal.
Hats off and a twenty-one gun salute for Novak and Rafael,
two of the most tired champs you'll ever see.

Australian Open - Men's Update

Novak overcomes and perseveres against 4th seed Andy Murray

We haven't posted many updates on the Australian Open this year because quite frankly there hasn't been any earth shattering news or major barn burners until the semis.

Yesterday the world was treated to the 10th Grand Slam match between #2 and #3 seeds, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Rafa prevails as a downcast Roger stands and stares

Honestly, for the first time in years, it seemed that Roger had the advantage going into the match with Rafa looking slightly hobbled by a knee injury.

Alas, No.

It went 4 sets with the feisty fucking Spaniard winning again (that's 8 of 10, for those keeping count). Rafa is one tough bastard. Just look at him up there rocking a lime green shirt and royal blue headband!

Today was another treat as #1 Novak Djokovic played #4 Andy Murray.

Would Andy Murray finally break the streak and win to advance to finals? Could he?

Fuck no. The poor kid just cannot seal the deal, even with an obviously off-his-game Novak huffing and puffing away - breathing through his nose!

For those of you who missed the interview the other day with Novak and Jim Courier that breathing through the nose thing will always be hilarious! As Novak correctly pointed out to a red-faced Courier (who just worded the question wrongly), humans are supposed to breathe through their nose.

So Murray is back off to Scotland and it's a Rafael Nadal - Novak Djokovic final!!!!!

Murray grits and grins but cannot win

Roger Federer is a Stick in the Mud

Federer, Nadal and Djokovic

The former men's #1 and 16 time grand slam champ has fellow players scratching their heads wondering why he is such a god dammed stick in the mud when it comes to supporting them in improving conditions for players.

Roger and fellow champ Rafael Nadal butted heads just yesterday over the matter and Rafa took it public...which he immediately regretted.

The following excerpts from ESPN.com News Article

Roger: "We can't always agree on everything," Federer said. "So far it's always been no problem really. Back in the day he (Nadal) used to say, 'Whatever Roger decides, I'm fine with. Today he's much more grown up. He has a strong opinion himself, which I think is great."

Rafa: "Probably I am wrong telling that to (the media), especially because these things can stay, must stay in the locker room," Nadal said. "I always had fantastic relationship with Roger. I still have fantastic relationship with Roger. Just I said we can have different views about how the tour needs to work. That's all."

Nadal wasn't alone in questioning Federer's stance. Former No. 3-ranked Nikolay Davydenko said Monday he didn't understand why the 16-time Grand Slam champion wasn't supporting his fellow players.

The Russian said that while Nadal and No. 1-ranked Novak Djokovic had been leading the push for changes, Federer had been reluctant to get involved.

"I don't know why Roger is not supporting the players," Davydenko said. "Because he don't want ... any problems. He's nice guy. He's winning Grand Slams. He's from Switzerland. He's perfect. He don't want to do anything, he just try to be an outsider from this one."

Federer countered with this gem:

"I was in the meeting. I completely understand and support the players' opinions," Federer said. "I just have a different way of going at it. I'm not discussing it with you guys in the press room. It creates unfortunately sometimes negative stories. (Strike) is such a dangerous word to use," Federer said. "It's not good for anyone really. We've seen it in other sports happening in the States. That's why I'm always very careful about it. If there's no avoiding it, I'll support the rest of the players. But I just think we have to think it through how we do it, if we do it, can we do it, whatever it is, instead of just going out and screaming about it."

Federer said there are "two or three" big issues that the players have been discussing. They include the length of the season and prize money at Grand Slam tournaments, which some players believe has not increased proportionately with growing profits.

American John Isner said he had been to the meeting and felt the players had a "legitimate beef" over prize money, which is also an issue at the Indian Wells tournament, where Davydenko said those players who lose in the first round can sometimes lose money after paying tax and travel costs to compete."

For a guy that can go toe-to-toe with the best in the world BECAUSE HE USED TO BE THE BEST EVER, Roger is a complete and total wuss.

Our Open Letter to Serena Williams

ewwwww...fuck that!

From a recent article with Serena Williams,
"I just want to be able to do other things that I’m doing and expand on that. I think that helps keep my motivation up … I don’t love tennis today, but I’m here. I can’t live without it.

It’s not that I’ve fallen out of love with it. I’ve actually never liked sports and I never understood how I became an athlete,” Williams continued.

I don’t like working out, I don’t like anything physical. If it involves sitting down or shopping, I’m excellent at it."

An Open Letter to Miss Serena Williams,

We can't stand you. Retire already, you skanky, mean-spirited, cold-hearted, fugly bitch. How dare you make fun of the sport that earned you millions. You are ungrateful and a disgustingly self-centered, shallow and stupid human being.

You have your father to thank for making you the athlete that you hate being so much. How can you even wonder how that happened? You were there weren't you? You are so fucking dim-witted and thoughtless that it's ridiculous how fucking stupid you really are.

We are so not sorry about your ankle. In fact, we are elated we won't have to watch you at the Aussie Open. Have a fun trip home and stay there!

Love,

GQ's Ace of the Year - Novak Djokovic

Novak is our favorite tennis player

Our boy Novak Djokovic (joke-o-vich) has really come into his own having had the best year of his life in 2011.

GQ has named Novak it's Ace of the Year long with Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon as Showmen of the Year, and Gary Oldman as Icon of the Year.

This year alone, Novak was a one man wrecking machine on court. He won 42 matches IN A ROW, won 10 titles and 3 Grand Slams. It was the Year of the Joker.

We've been cheering for Novak for years now so it's really awesome to see him rise to the top of the sport. He is the total package. Witty, clever and charming as a person and a phenom on the court. We never get sick of watching him.

GQ's article has this to say about the young talented Serbian:

“The most electrifying thing about watching Djokovic, the quality that pulls in a casual viewer, is that even while playing at the highest level ever attained in his sport, some piece of his mind seems still to be functioning on the normal human plane. He has not turned his back on lesser life-forms, in the manner of a Michael Jordan, and vanished into a rat tunnel of competitive rage. He places another shot improbably—yet certainly—inside the line. He turns away and pumps his fist, not in abandon but with a sort of narrow-eyed, thoughtful glee. It’s as if he’s as awed as we are by what he can get away with.”

We think the most electrifying thing about watching Novak play is just watching Novak play. What a piece of work is man*.

Novak or Nole as we call him, has just been cast in his first Hollywood action movie! Yes! Look for Nole in a cameo scene with Jason Statham in Expendables 2, currently filming in Bulgaria.

Roger Routs Rafa at World Tour

Roger reminds everyone that he's still a contender

There was a time, not just a couple of years ago, when Roger Federer won every match he was in. Every. One.

Hailed as The Greatest Tennis Player of All Time, he was on course to break every record and cement his already lustrous career into infinity.

Then a guy named Rafael Nadal entered the scene. A young punk from Spain, Nadal had the guts, the skill and the balls to kick Roger's ass from one side of the court to another. To this day Rafa has won 17 of the 26 times they've met.

The Roger Federer - Rafael Nadal rivalry is/was one of the greatest in ALL sports. But in tennis it is already the stuff of legend.

Roger is now ranked 4th in the world behind #1 Novak Djokivic, #2 Rafa Nadal and #3 Andy Freaking Murray.

However, last night, Roger absolutely and totally schooled Nadal in less than an hour winning 6-3, 6-0 at the O2 in London.

It was Rafa's worst defeat since 2008. To put the point on it, check this out: Roger had 28 outright winners to Rafa's 4.

Federer will be in the Barclays ATP World Tour Semi Finals this Saturday. Rafa will be doing supermodels on his yacht.

Will There Be a Tennis Strike?

The Big Three - Federer, Nadal and Djokovic

Andy Murray has gone on record saying 'Yes I think so.'

This is nothing new. For years now tennis players have complained about how long their season is compared to every other sport. They virtually have a year long season without sufficient off-time to recover - again - like every other sport.

This has been a contentious point for a very long time.

Several top-players LED BY the Big Three, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are reportedly "not afraid" to boycott or strike to get the reigning bodies of tennis - Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and International Tennis Federation (ITF)- to reform the schedule. Viva la Revolucion!

As it stands now, Rafa, for example, will not be able to rest until December 5. Even then he would have a scant 3 weeks to rest, recuperate and recover before he will have to report to Australia for the January Open there.

That's a very long and difficult season. Consider football. Those guys play once a week for only 16 weeks! In tennis it's a constant 47-49 weeks. That's crazy.

From the AFP:
"The 24-year-old Scot (Andy Murray) told the BBC that he had held several talks with other players at the US Open and they would be discussing the matter further at the Shanghai Masters early next month.

Matters came to a head at the US Open where rain forced some players such as Spanish star Rafael Nadal to play matches on three successive days then have one day off and travel to Europe to play Davis Cup.

The players were also incensed by the announcement last year by ATP chief executive Adam Helfant, who has since decided to leave the governing body, that the Paris Masters and the World Tour Finals would be played back-to-back, so two weeks have been saved in the 2012 ATP calendar.

However, Murray made clear the players' patience was wearing thin.

"It's (a strike) a possibility. I know from speaking to some players they're not afraid of doing that (striking)," said Murray, who was beaten by Nadal in the US Open semi-finals.

"Let's hope it doesn't come to that but I'm sure the players will consider it." "

We saw the show of solidarity between players as we've never seen before at the US Open earlier this month. The players marched practically in formation right into the President's office and had their say.

They've cut their teeth with that one and will almost certainly be ready to unionize themselves and fight for the bigger prize.

Now that Roger Federer has twin baby girls at home, we're sure he will lead the way into Mordor to destroy the One Ring of power a power play for reformation. He has as much to fight for off the court as he does on it.

The Djoker's Wild Night - Novak Wins US Open!

WHAT A NIGHT!

As expected, the Men's Final between Rafael Nadal (2) and Novak Djokovic (1) was an absolute intense epic powerhouse match that did not disappoint.

The 4 set match won by Novak Djokovic (JOKE-O-VICH) was lopsided on paper - 6-2 6-4 6-7 (3-7) 6-1, but not on court. We've never seen Rafa work so fucking hard to win 2 games ever.

Each set took at least an hour as the guys battled on and on. It looked as if Novak might take it in 3 but Rafa fought back to force a tiebreak which he won pretty handily.

Novak and Rafa are such good players that each shot was blasted at each other like missiles. One game lasted 18 minutes and there were many rallies over 20 shots. Over and over like robot cyborgs from another planet these guys played their hearts and their guts out.

The physical fitness level was set to 11. Novak and Rafa both possess speed and agility but time and again Novak was like a fucking lightning bolt. He clearly is in the best condition of his life.

From the UK Telegraph:
"This was nothing less than a salute to physical endurance. The remorseless Novak Djokovic, trading blows with Rafael Nadal to lung-bursting extremes last night, proved beyond doubt by his four-set on win on Arthur Ashe Stadium that he was the world No 1 by a distance."

From the UK Guardian:
"Novak Djokovic might still be the king of tennis but it took a struggle of epic proportions over four sets at Flushing Meadows to rip Rafael Nadal's fingers from his crown.

The Serb beat him for the sixth time in six finals this year to take the Spaniard's US Open title in a match of so many highs the lows were rendered irrelevant, a price worth paying for one of the finest finishes to a major in recent times.

The sustained quality of the exchanges, in rallies that ran to 30 shots and more, left the 24,712 excitement junkies packed into the Arthur Ashe stadium delirious on a balmy New York Monday night and the combatants drained of the last drop of their genius.

It took the world No 1 four hours and 10 minutes to subdue the reigning champion 6-2, 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 on a night when one miracle followed another."

It was the best match all year as far as we are concerned.

From Jonathan Overend,BBC tennis correspondent:
"At times the tennis was frightening. We've seen some amazing things in this golden era for men's tennis, but several of the rallies last night hit new heights. Djokovic and Nadal traded brutal, relentless blows. The rallies were seemingly won, time and time again, only to continue sometimes for upwards of 30 strokes. The superstar of tennis in 2011 has just taken his extraordinary season to a whole new level."

Both men acknowledged 9/11 in their trophy speeches and in Rafa's broken English it came out awesome. He said something like "We remember your ninth eleven." It was adorable. Poor Rafa lost pretty hard to Novak again (he is now 0-6 this year against him). As much as we wanted Novak to win, it was heartbreaking to see Rafa lose.

Djokovic holds the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open titles and if he hadn't lost the French to Nadal, he would have won the GRAND SLAM. Novak also becomes only the sixth man in the open era to win three of the four majors in the same year.

"It's an incredible feeling," said the 24-year-old, Serbian, who has lost only two of his 66 matches in 2011. "I've had an amazing year and it keeps going. Every time I play Rafa it's a big challenge. He's had a great tournament and I wish we have many more tough matches in the coming years."

Novak Djokovic, World's #1, holds his trophy up and proudly
displays his love for NY on his NYFD hat

Rafael Nadal vs Novak Djokovic

The Men's Final of the US Open is set to happen today at 4pm when these two great champions take to the court.

Once again it's Rafa vs. Novak and it's GOING TO BE A CLASSIC.

Every time these two meet there's a classic match. And today will be no exception for 2 good reasons.

1) Each man wants to and needs to win.

Novak wants to cement his domination at being the Number one ranked player in the world with another win over Rafa. He's currently at 65-2 this year, one of the greatest winning streaks in history.

Rafa needs to end the 0-5 losing streak (in matches against Novak) he's been on since Novak turned into a freight train.

2) It's New York, It's Sunny and It's the Final

After what seems like months of rain, the East Coast is finally drying out. The men fought for and gained an extra day of rest and were not forced to play 4 days in a row. They are rested and ready for battle. Barring any injury it should be a barn burner.

Note: The Semi-final Saturday between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic was beyond outstanding. Roger won the first two sets had 2 match points and LOST after Novak came back to win 3 sets in a row. AMAZING!!! How could anyone not like this sport?

Serena Williams is a Loser

Sam Stosur celebrates her win

In every way Serena Williams is a complete jerkoff.

Australian Samantha Stosur kicked Serena's ass in the US Open Woman's Final yesterday winning the Tournament 6-2,6-3. It was awesome the way Stosur ran Williams around the court like Serena was new to the game.

However, Serena being Serena, in other words a complete bitch, had words with another official ala her 2009 rant where she threatened to shove a tennis ball down the officials throat.

Yesterday, Serena continued to be as unattractive on the court as she is off of it. "A furious Williams harangued umpire Eva Asderaki and then continued to insult the official at the next change of ends, calling her 'out of control', a 'hater' and 'unattractive inside'.

Really, Serena? Really?

It sounds as if you are describing yourself.

She then went on to not shake hands with the official after the match as is common courtesy. Someone doesn't understand "sportsmanship" at all.

We would have LOVED to LOVE Serena during her career. She had all the makings, if not more, to be a GREAT and BELOVED Champion. Plus, being an American she could have given us all such a huge sense of pride winning all of her tournaments. Her demeanor and attitude pretty much killed it off almost immediately. The way she wouldn't take to court unless she was wearing something ridiculous that she swore was fashion or without wearing huge hoop earrings made a joke of the sport. She seemed to take the sport seriously on one hand while lampooning it with the other. In interviews all she did was to talk about fashion and how much she loved it and went to school for it. She treats her own sport like it's a sideshow and not the real deal. We absolutely cannot stand her and hate that she is an American representative of tennis. We hope that this is the end of her career and we won't have to suffer through watching her anymore. The sooner she goes away the better.

The USTA will meet today to discuss another fine for the Big Bitch Cry Baby that is Serena Williams.

US Open Begins!

Opening Ceremonies last night in NYC

Hurricane Irene only interfered with one event at the US Open this weekend and that was the annual Arthur Ashe Kids Day on Sunday. Considering how bad it could have been and how bad it is for NC and VT, we can't really complain.

All of our favorites have been in NY getting ready for a week now and round one started yesterday.

CBS is broadcasting more than 37 hours of tennis on it's 44th year of doing so. We'd like to give CBS a round of applause. Thank you!

For those of you not familiar with the US Open in NYC, it's a BLAST. Forget tennis stereotypes of old. There is no just back-and-forth, it's a rip roaring ride! Rabid fans will be cheering and screaming day and night for their faves.

Night matches are famous in NYC for their excitement and fun. Who will ever forget Jimmy Connor's nighttime run back in 1991 and how awesome that was?

We'll be cheering for Big Juan Del Potro, Novac Djokovic and Rafael Nadal and of course, cursing out that stupid bitch Maria Sharapova and the horrid Williams sisters (while cheering who ever they are playing that day).

Tune in for for all the rounds every night on ESPN.

Rafa's Got Balls...On and Off Court

With only a few days to go until Hurricane Irene officially cancels the start of the US Open, Tennis Super Star Rafael Nadal, unveiled his new Armani campaign today in NYC.

He met with fans signing for them and taking pics at Macy's Herald Square. Rafa's other news this week is the release of his autobiography. We just fucking love this kid. If you haven't seen him play, you're missing out. If you have, you know what we mean.

The 25 year old bachelor from Majorica is a hit with the ladies...

We cannot imagine why.

This is a marvelous opportunity to remember Beckham's Armani campaign as well.

And Cristiano Ronaldo's...

God, we love Tennis and Soccer!

Nope, nothing to see here, folks. Just move on ;)

Novak Djokovic Gets Hero's Welcome in Belgrade

2011 Wimbledon Champ Novak Djokovic received a hero's welcome in Belgrade yesterday as over 100,000 people gathered to cheer him on.

FROM REUTERS:

(Reuters) - Some 100,000 Serbian tennis fans gave Novak Djokovic a royal reception in central Belgrade on Monday after the 24-year-old arrived home to celebrate winning his first Wimbledon title.

Djokovic, who leapt to the top of the ATP rankings in the process, was greeted by a deafening roar as he arrived in an open-top bus which took hours to reach the Serbian parliament square from the airport.

Traffic on the main motorway ground to a halt as fans got out of their cars to salute Serbia's most popular athlete, whose entire family paraded alongside him on a giant stage where rock bands entertained the crowd.

"This is absolutely unbelievable and I owe all of you eternal gratitude for this reception," an elated Djokovic said as he held aloft the trophy he won with an emphatic four-set win over Spaniard Rafa Nadal in Sunday's final.

"The time has come to bare all my emotions to you and all I can say is that you are the best in the world because only Serbian fans can throw a party like this.

"You have made the happiest day of my life even better and I dedicate this trophy to you," said Djokovic, who will lead Davis Cup holders Serbia in their quarter-final tie away to Sweden next weekend.

"We have a soul that is second to none and with the team event coming up, I can promise you we will do everything in our power to win it all again," he added.

Djokovic and his two younger brothers then joined rock, pop and folk bands on stage in singing local chartbusters, as fans lit flares and waved Serbian flags.

The frenzy culminated when Djokovic and his family engaged in a traditional Serbian folk dance as fireworks lit the skies above Belgrade on a warm evening.

"Young people are here in droves because they look up to this extraordinary young man and draw inspiration from his accomplishments," said former Davis Cup coach Radmilo Armenulic.

"He is a role model and a true champion, finding the strength and willpower in his family and close friends, which is the best way to keep your life on the rails."

Awww...

Gotta love young Nole!

Note - Just FYI: Nole is the Serbian nickname for people named Novak, which is a common name in Serbia.

Novak Djokovic Wins Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic, world's number One, rips the win from Rafael Nadal on the 30th anniversary of the famous Wimbledon Bjorn Borg win over John McEnroe. All Hail The Current King of Tennis. Nole!

6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3

What a day at the 125th All England Lawn Tennis Championships!

Favored Rafael Nadal fails to live up to numbero uno as Novak Djokovic, 48-1, this year, PROVES why he is now number one.

From SI this afternoon:
"Novak Djokovic is the new king. When Djokovic achieved the No. 1 ranking on Friday, it was met with quiet admiration. It took him 48 hours to legitimize his supremacy — and the reaction has been emphatic. With a breathtaking display of offense, defense and mental strength, Djokovic took down defending champ Rafael Nadal on Centre Court today, 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3. Djokovic has lost one match since Thanksgiving weekend. He has won two of the last three majors. He beaten Nadal five straight times, twice on clay, twice on hard courts, once on grass. Two years ago, we coronated Federer here. A year ago it was Nadal. Suddenly Djokovic looks darn near unbeatable and is halfway from turning in a season that will rival any year Federer or Nadal put up. What a player. What an era."

The young Serb, after winning, walked to center court and started eating the grass, literally plucking some grass and stuffing it into his mouth, said he "felt like an animal."

"I managed to achieve a lifetime goal and I managed to make my dream come true, all in three days' time," said Djokovic, who tossed three of his rackets into the crowd before accepting the championship trophy. "It's just an incredible feeling that I'm never going to forget. This is the best day of my tennis career."

Serbian President Boris Tadic was in the Royal Box along with several former champions to watch the match on Centre Court. We know The Silver Fox, Bjorn Borg was there as well as John McEnroe who was calling the match for NBC.

"Nadal had won 20 straight matches at the All England Club, including two of the previous three titles. He missed the 2009 tournament because of injury, but was playing in his fifth Wimbledon final in six years."

Rafa needed today's win to match Borg's record of 11 Grand Slam titles. He'll have to try again at the US Open in August. Finally some hard court!

Wimbledon was a huge success this year and we had a great time watching all the matches we could.

Congratulations, Nole!

Also and this is last but not least - All Hail the Bryan Brothers! The phenomenal twins won their 11th doubles title today cementing their names into history. They are the winningest team of all time. The only reason they don't get more press, is because they've never played singles men's tennis... and no one watches doubles.

It's almost sad but they "cry" their way to the bank, those guys. Bob and Mike Bryan are the like the fucking wondertwins. WTG, guys!

Wimbledon: Men's Final Happening Now...

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic
The top two tennis player in the world right now

The above photo taken in 2008 at the Beijing Summer Olympics shows the two friends playing some poker.

The stakes are slightly higher today as the two meet again for the 4th time this year.

Novak is 4-0 against Rafa this year, HOWEVER in major Grand Slams it's Rafa that's 5-0.

The match is playing now on NBC. Tune in for what should be a 5 set barnburner.

Wimbledon: Men's Semi-Finals Day

Big Jo Tsonga

Our boy Novak!

It's here! Men's Semi final Day at Wimbledon.

First up: Novak Djokovic vs. Jo Wilfried Tsonga

Novak has lost only ONE match since last year and in our eyes is the favorite for this match. Tsonga has the momentum though, having won the match of his life beating Roger Federer the other day and is, as they say, On A Roll.

Should be some of the best tennis yet.

Novak has TWO ways to win the Number One spot.

1) Rafa could lose against Murray. We think the only way Murray could win is if he brought a machine gun to the court instead of a tennis racket...

2) Novak beats Tsonga.

With either of those scenarios Novak will be the world's number one tennis player, usurping Rafa for the first time in two years.

Our other favorite of all time, Rafael Nadal

Go Rafa!

Andy Murray, the Scot with all the pressure.
Can he finally do it?

Poor Andy Murray. His situation is like "always a bridesmaid never a bride". He can't seem to win a major and he needs one badly. He's a great player but just can't seal the deal.

Will it be today against current #1 Rafael Nadal?

We hardly think so. But hey. Rafa could break a leg or something. You never know.

Wimbledon: And on the Men's Side

ROGER FEDERER IS OUT!

The six-time Wimbledon winner was ousted by big Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the Muhammad Ali look alike. Tsonga was ELATED over the win as you can see from the pic above.

WOW! What a shocker! Tsonga is good but not take-down-Federer-in-his-own-house good. But he was today. And to boot, Roger was 178-0 in matches where he was up 2 sets.

Yes, folks, Roger was up the first two sets and lost the last three. Did anyone check to see if Hell is freezing over?

Also, in good news, our boy Novak Djokovic rolls on to the semis as well.

Andy Murray - Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic - Jo Tsonga are the final four.

We're looking forward to a Rafa - Novak final.

Wimbledon Update: And on the Women's Side

Serena and Venus as the Divas they are

THE WILLLIAMS SISTERS ARE OUT!

Hallelujiah!

We know they are the best players of their generation but personally they are so unlikeable they make our skin crawl. We just cannot root for them. Ever. There is absolutely nothing to like about them. They are mean, rude and simply obnoxious people that do not get "it" or anything for that matter. Their narcisssim level is in a class by itself.

Venus was bested by the same person who put her out last year and with the SAME score: Bulgaria’s Tsvetana Pironkova 6-2, 6-3.

There is word that Venus should retire. Wimbledon was her best event. She's 31 and can't even win 6 games here now.

Serena was bested today by Marion Bartoli in three sets. Bartoli is an "outcast". She's not one of the glamorous ones, her father is her coach (we know how THAT goes) and we like her for that. She is consistently in the WTA's top ten players and SHE BEAT SERENA. Go Bartoli!

So, Good bye Serena. Good bye Venus. Take that bitch Maria Sharapova with you!

Caroline is everything that Bitch Sharapova wishes she was...
talented, cute and liked

We also say good bye to Caroline Wozniacki who once again is "under fire" for being ranked #1 in the world with NO MAJORS. That's right. Cute little Wozniacki has never won a major title and it's starting to piss people off that she is ranked so high without one.

She lost today in three sets to Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia.

As cute as Wozniacki is, she doesn't hold a candle
to the sex kitten known as Ana Ivanovic. WOW!

Speaking of sex...

Although this is a post about the Women's side...

WE MISS MARAT SO MUCH, WE CAN'T TAKE IT.
HERE HE IS FOR OLD TIMES SAKE...

Big, delicious Marat Safin at Wimbledon
