What the Pope Really Meant

Here's the future Pope saluting Hitler, a guy who KILLED 6-8 MILLION PEOPLE.
But thinks it's homosexuals that pose a problem for the world.
What a fucking psycho.

Pope Benedict (emphasis on dick), recently announced that gay marriage undermines 'the future of humanity itself'.

Really? We had no idea! You mean, gay people aren't just into marriage, commitment, love, good fashion and redecorating skills? They aren't just busy, working, living life, being surgeons, librarians, teachers, artists, office workers, taxi drivers and good citizens? You mean they've been secretly plotting to undermine the entire fabric of society as we know it!? This whole time?

Oh my god!

...Wait! We just figured out what the Pope really meant by "the future of humanity itself".

What he really meant was that gay marriage undermines 'the future of The Vatican bank book'.

Oh! Now, it makes sense!

You see, gay people don't usually procreate naturally (that whole ovum/sperm thing again) thus producing the 10-12 children the Catholic Church demands from each of it's married slaves parishioners, THUS, reducing the amount of INCOME The Vatican can expect to receive each year. So years into the future when those drones children reach marriage age, chose a heterosexual partner and continue the cycle of stupidity, procreation all over again, the Church has guaranteed income.

You did know that your sperm and ovum are the entire basis, kit and kaboodle and reason of being, for the Catholic Church revenue stream, right?

No sperm and ovum combo means no kids which means NO FUTURE MONEY!

NO FUTURE MONEY?? WHAT!? That undermines the entire future of humanity! HA! See where he gets it?

What an assclown.

We Remember Matthew Shepard

13 years ago today, the world lost Matthew Shepard, a young college student...and gay man. Only we didn't lose him, he was brutally taken from us.

Matthew was murdered by homophobic men in one of the most vicious anti-gay hate mongering ways possible. He was brutally beaten and left for dead in a Wyoming field tied to a fence post.

Matthew's legacy is one of hope. We hope that one day, young men like Matthew aren't beaten, tortured and killed for just being what they are. We also hope that the LGBT youth stop killing themselves for being bullied.

If you are a religious person who feels that being gay is evil, then you have to realize it is YOUR problem. Work on your on soul and leave others to their own. Keep it to yourself, your web blog, your little world. Do not go forth and try to purposefully ruin other people's lives because you don't believe in it.

We need to stop the hate.

Matthew's mother, Judy, wrote something beautiful to remember her son. Please read it. We are posting it in entirety and including a link to the original.

"October is very hard for me.

It's not that the early autumn in Wyoming isn't beautiful. If you haven't experienced the crisp air as the nights come earlier each day, or the last few cricket chirps of the season that follow the brilliant orange sunsets, you can't really know the peaceful, quiet contemplation this time of year brings those few of us fortunate to make our homes here.

But it's those cues, these turns of the calendar pages, that remind me of the tragedy that autumn brought us 13 years ago, and start us reflecting on what our family, and our society, have learned from it.

Thirteen years ago this week his father, brother and I were at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo., with our firstborn son, Matthew Shepard. He was 21, and dying. Just days before, he had been just like millions of American college students whose names are not known to the world -- getting the hang of his new classes, adapting to a new campus, making friends. His father and I thought his biggest challenges were keeping money in his checking account and getting his homework in on time.

But here he was in intensive care, the victim of a terrible, senseless attack at the hands of two other young men who, at some point in their lives, learned it was OK to hate others for being different, to victimize them, to disregard their humanity.

Matt passed away quietly in the early morning hours of Oct. 12, 1998, with his family at his bedside. He died because of violence fueled by anti-gay hatred. For a lot of reasons, some of which we will probably never quite understand, the world had been watching, praying for him, and voicing their outrage.

October cannot go by anymore, and never will again, without us wondering what might have been, for us and for so many other families, if hatred of gay, and lesbian, and bisexual, and transgendered people, and all those whom others simply think might be, had been rooted out long ago.

In the painful months that followed Matt's death, we came to understand a lot of things we never knew before: about hate crimes, and how shockingly many there were every year; how they are characterized by obvious signs, like excessive violence, and the denial that surrounds them; and how hard they were to prove, and prosecute, and appropriately punish, with sensitivity to the victim's loved ones and the wider community.

We learned about the LGBT community and its long struggle for acceptance and equality. We learned how easily LGBT people could be fired from their jobs just for being themselves, how they couldn't serve their country openly, couldn't marry, couldn't adopt kids in some states. And most of all, we learned about the fear so many otherwise good people had in their hearts about their gay neighbors, coworkers and family members.

We set about creating a legacy for Matt. He had always been interested in politics, human rights and LGBT equality -- he had in fact been at a Coming Out Week meeting at the University of Wyoming on his last night. With the support and sympathy of the thousands who wrote us and the millions who were touched by his death, we decided to try to make a difference in his name.

Thirteen years later, the Matthew Shepard Foundation stands up for the LGBT community and its straight allies, in Matt's memory. We are a modest organization, but we do our part and persuade others to do theirs, as well. We pushed -- for a long, long time -- for federal hate crime legislation that includes LGBT people. That finally happened in another chilly October two years ago -- one more step forward. We go to schools and companies and community groups to implore everyone there to embrace diversity. We try to give young people hope, despite their parents' or peers' rejection of them, that they have a bright future. We keep Matt's story alive and look to turn bystanders into activists.

It's been such a long, sometimes tiring journey, but a rewarding one, as well. The coming out stories that young people tell me, slowly, almost imperceptibly, got better. More and more, the story ends not with a young person being turned out of the house, but affirmed, and accepted, lovingly. Every time I speak at a college somewhere in America, I am hoping I will hear another one like that.

Marriage equality is coming slowly, state by state, and military service has finally been opened to all, regardless of sexual orientation. This is progress. But we have a lot of work left to do, in employment discrimination, in family law and, most of all, in people's individual lives.

We all have a role to play. We all have our story to tell. When we all finally stand up and demand equality, the scourge of hatred will wither and disappear. And maybe we can all have our Octobers back to enjoy for what they're meant to be -- a season to see, celebrate, change."

We celebrate all of our friends in the LGBT community and cheer for those who have had the courage and fortitude to "Come Out".

We absolutely love you and how fabulous you are and how freakin' fabulous you make the world.

Nothing would be the same without you! Nothing.

To all the "newbies" - congratulations for coming out today and showing or telling the world...even it's one person...that you are what you are. A beautiful human being.

Your courage is contagious.

Be Loud. Be Proud.

Human Rights Campaign - National Coming Out Day

October 20th is "Spirit Day" - click here to learn why you should wear purple!
Bullying is not "just a right of passage". It's systematic, targeted harassment. It wouldn't be tolerated in the workplace and it should not be tolerated in school. It is a hate crime.

It Gets Better: A Message of Hope from the US Senate

The US Senate got together for "The It Gets Better" Campaign. This campaign encourages LGBT youth to try and get through high school without killing themselves because "it gets better."

We've already posted some of these videos in the past. Notably, Tim Gunn's video as WE LOVE HIM.

This video touched us personally. We see the anti-gay hatred every day at work from ignorant Republican conservatives who question "why do they (gay people) need to be married?" In other words, can't they just go away and leave us normal people alone?

It drives us fucking crazy because gay people are our friends, family and co-workers. We cannot even imagine a life without them. We don't consider them second-class citizens without rights. We can't imagine them killing themselves as teenagers either.

It's about time to end the partisan bullshit and political rhetoric regarding the fact that people are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered. It's a fact. It's not something to even debate. And, people start out as kids that are confused enough about life. They don't need other people's bullshit killing their fragile egos to the point where they want to die.

Good for the Senate.

Here it is:

Desmond Tutu Gets It Right

Wow. Desmond Tutu's new book, 'God Is Not A Christian: And Other Provocations', contains some "explosive" stuff to all the Bible thumping die hards out there.

Read this excerpt that is posted on Huffington Post today to see why he thinks persecuting gays and lesbians is the ultimate injustice.

Here's a glimpse:

"A student once asked me, If I could have one wish granted to reverse an injustice, what would it be? I had to ask for two. One is for world leaders to forgive the debts of developing nations which hold them in such thrall. The other is for the world to end the persecution of people because of their sexual orientation, which is every bit as unjust as that crime against humanity, apartheid."

Way to go, Des! Comparing homosexuality persecution with apartheid is an awesome analogy and one that will certainly raise the hackles of all the religidiots out there. Good job!

Can't Say Gay? Say Takei! Because "It's Okay to Be Takei"

George Takei is a wonderful human being. Long known for his sense of humor, George is a loving, happy man that happens to also be gay and a gay advocate and supporter.

We saw him once at a Star Trek convention (yes, proud Trekkies here) and instead of going onstage and rambling on about Star Trek, George did what Brent Spiner (Data) does at these things...he gave us a 20 minute stand-up comedy routine. AND IT KILLED.

George is freakin' HILARIOUS.

For those of you that have followed him for years as an awesome guest on The Howard Stern Show, you know this. As for the rest of you, you can probably youtube or google him to see how genuinely warm and compassionate and funny he has always been. You can find the "Sulu Dance" on youtube...Stern fans have laughed at this for years.

For now, his cause is fighting the gay hating people of Tennessee with humor. It always angers angry people more when you laugh at them. George is a master of this.

Watch this:

And get your It's Okay to Be Takei stuff here: It's Okay to Be Takei.com

Lady Gaga may have been born this way, but it's okay to be Takei.

Anonymous Warns Westboro Church of Hate

WE ARE LOVING THIS!!!

People have been trying to stand up to this red-neck fundamentalist crazy church for a while now. At the Arizona funerals 2 months ago, there were good people with 8 foot angel wings on to block the funeral protests by this so-called "church." Also there are motorcycle gangs that will come to military funerals and pretty much do the same thing - block the protestors out, sans angel wings.

NOW HOWEVER, a new group of people have come out to warn Westboro to stop it already.

Read this:

"We, the collective super-consciousness known as ANONYMOUS - the Voice of Free Speech & the Advocate of the People - have long heard you issue your venomous statements of hatred, and we have witnessed your flagrant and absurd displays of inimitable bigotry and intolerant fanaticism. We have always regarded you and your ilk as an assembly of graceless sociopaths and maniacal chauvinists & religious zealots, however benign, who act out for the sake of attention & in the name of religion.

Being such aggressive proponents for the Freedom of Speech & Freedom of Information as we are, we have hitherto allowed you to continue preaching your benighted gospel of hatred and your theatrical exhibitions of, not only your fascist views, but your utter lack of Christ-like attributes. You have condemned the men and women who serve, fight, and perish in the armed forces of your nation; you have prayed for and celebrated the deaths of young children, who are without fault; you have stood outside the United States National Holocaust Museum, condemning the men, women, and children who, despite their innocence, were annihilated by a tyrannical embodiment of fascism and unsubstantiated repugnance. Rather than allowing the deceased some degree of peace and respect, you instead choose to torment, harass, and assault those who grieve.

Your demonstrations and your unrelenting cascade of disparaging slurs, unfounded judgments, and prejudicial innuendos, which apparently apply to every individual numbered amongst the race of Man - except for yourselves - has frequently crossed the line which separates Freedom of Speech from deliberately utilizing the same tactics and methods of intimidation and mental & emotional abuse that have been previously exploited and employed by tyrants and dictators, fascists and terrorist organizations throughout history.

ANONYMOUS cannot abide this behavior any longer. The time for us to be idle spectators in your inhumane treatment of fellow Man has reached its apex, and we shall now be moved to action. Thus, we give you a warning: Cease & desist your protest campaign in the year 2011, return to your homes in Kansas, & close your public Web sites. Should you ignore this warning, you will meet with the vicious retaliatory arm of ANONYMOUS: We will target your public Websites, and the propaganda & detestable doctrine that you promote will be eradicated; the damage incurred will be irreversible, and neither your institution nor your congregation will ever be able to fully recover. It is in your best interest to comply now, while the option to do so is still being offered, because we will not relent until you cease the conduction & promotion of all your bigoted operations & doctrines. The warning has been given. What happens from here shall be determined by you."

You know, we don't condone violence or anything like that, but this Westboro church has been hate mongering for years and this letter is pretty much just giving them back what they have been spewing. KARMA IS A FUCKING BITCH.

YEE-HA! We wish Anonymous all the luck in the world. Shut those despicable mo-fo's down for good! Imagine having the gall to protest visitors of the National Holocaust Museum and to viciously harass grieving parents at funerals. Westboro is proud to hold up signs that read "Thank God for dead soldiers." What scumbags they are.

We wish Anonymous had a donate button. We'd be all in!

Go get 'em. Send them back to their slime pit in Kansas where they belong.

One Bush with a Brain

Barbara Bush, daughter of Stupid W. Bush, has "come out" in favor of same sex marriage.

"Bush, who has never commented publicly on the issue, appears in a new online PSA video for the Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights group.

"I'm Barbara Bush and I'm a New Yorker for marriage equality," she says. "New York is about fairness and equality and everyone should have the right to marry the person that they love. Join us."

You go girl!

Her mom, Laura, who once killed a person, had this to say: "When couples are committed to each other and love each other, that they ought to have, I think, the same sort of rights that everyone has," Laura Bush told CNN's Larry King last year, adding that she and her husband disagree on the issue.

We wonder if she was wearing a "I'm married to Stupid" t-shirt... Regardless, we commend the Bush's for finally waking up.

And even more amazing, Dick "Dr. Strangelove" Cheney, whose daughter is gay said this: "people ought to be free to enter into any kind of union they wish. Any kind of arrangement they wish." Adding, "I will rule the world!"...

Okay, not that last part. That was Plankton. But you get the point.

We're glad to see at least one Bush with a brain.

Sir Elton Says "Fuck You" to Gay Marriage Opponets

In his own words from the American Foundation for Equal Rights fundraiser Wednesday night billed as "Intimate Benefit Concert with Elton John":

"As a gay man I think I have it all," he told the crowd between songs. "I have a wonderful career, a wonderful life. I have my health, I have a partner of 17 years and I have a son. And you know what, I don't have everything, because I don't have the respect of people like the church, and people like politicians who tell me that I am not worthy or that I am 'less than' because I am gay. Well, fuck you."

Well said, Sir Elton. That totally and completely sums it up. The guy is a writer after all and has a way with words.

BTW, he raised a cool $3 Million for the organization. Way to go!

Tim Gunn - IT GETS BETTER

We are beside ourselves this week with all of the gay teen suicides. So many lives wasted. Beautiful talented people that are killing themselves at 8, 11, 13 years old! It's a crime against humanity. And it has to stop.

The "It Gets Better" Campaign has seen dozens of celebrities film quick 1 minute video messages for gay and lesbian teenagers, as a way of hope, to let the kids know that it sure as hell DOES get better.

High School is a particular kind of hell. 10% of Americans think that high school was the best time they ever had, while the other 90% of us wonder how the hell we made it through at all.

Teen suicides have always been an epidemic of heinous proportions and there have been numerous programs set up to establish help lines for all teenagers. Gay youth however, face a different kind of hell. It's one thing to be called fat...you can lose weight. You can be called a whore or slut...and know better. You can be called ugly...and wait until you get those braces off. How do you counteract the taunts, the bullies making fun of what you fundamentally are? As a kid, you can't. You internalize. Your microcosm of a life, doesn't allow you the experience to really know better. To know that there is a WIDE WORLD out there and places where you will feel accepted. Instead, you think there is no way out and end your life.

This is tragedy beyond belief, the talented, sensitive people we have lost and the bullies (misguided youth themselves) that are left behind.

So we SALUTE TIM GUNN and the other celebs willing to put their own hearts into messages of hope - That IT GETS BETTER.

Tim's video was released today and we were super-emotional when viewing it. Tim describes how he once attempted suicide as a 17 year old in despair. It's moving. Tim Gunn is the personification of intelligence, composure, thoughtfulness and gentility. We are graced with his presence here on Earth and cannot imagine a world where he once existed as a tortured kid that killed himself. TAKE HEED!

We love you Tim. Thanks for doing your part to help!
