An Historical Day in The House of Representatives


Today for the first time EVER, the ENTIRE Constitution was read line for line by both Republicans and Democrats.

The document is 222 years old and it was the first time being read in the House. Wow.

We think that's pretty cool, although most people were left unimpressed.

When the 13 the Amendment of the Constitution was read, the one that abolishes slavery, cheers broke out amidst a standing ovation.

The Preamble:
"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
