Anderson Cooper Pummeled in Cairo!

And in other reporter news, poor Anderson Cooper, CNN's anchor, was punched in the head 10 times, by Pro-Mubarek supporters today!

He is okay and has retreated with his crew to a roof a building, while they regroup.

Anderson is the son of legendary designer, Gloria Vanderbilt. He had a privileged upbringing, which makes his career choice so astonishing. He has never rested on the families money, instead choosing to carve his own path.

Tragically, Anderson was witness to his older brothers suicide in 1988, when the brother, Carter, jumped from the families 14th story penthouse apartment. It was this tragedy that made him want to become a journalist. He was quoted as saying this about his choices:

"Loss is a theme that I think a lot about, and it’s something in my work that I dwell on. I think when you experience any kind of loss, especially the kind I did, you have questions about survival: Why do some people thrive in situations that others can’t tolerate? Would I be able to survive and get on in the world on my own?"

We wish Anderson and Christiane well as they report from Cairo!
